The term “Advanced Manufacturing Technology” is used to describe flexible manufacturing systems that use innovative technology to improve the design and manufacture of products and processes. The Advanced Manufacturing Technology Program will teach you how these systems – using robotic and transport-based automation including modular work cells: assembly stations, storage locations, machining centers, welding centers and painting stations – play out in the product, from design to manufacture to delivery to the customer. Each student will acquire an overview of how a complete system is tied together to produce high quality product at a low cost.Areas of Degree Emphasis:*EngineeringMechatronicsRobotics Pathway*If a degree emphasis is selected, Advanced Manufacturing Technology A.S. degree requirements will be met using specific courses that also provide training in that sub-specialty.
The Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) associate degree program is a lab-intensive, hands-on approach to training in the fields of engineering graphics and computer based drafting and design. This career-oriented major includes instruction on the use of a number of the most popular industry-standard graphics and drafting software applications. The program has a basic general education core along with introductory manufacturing and computer courses. A cooperative education option is also available.
This course will introduce the student to the world of tooling and tool holding as it applies to the machining process. Students will learn to select the appropriate tooling and tool holders for a wide variety of applications. Students will also learn to calculate the correct spindle speed and depth of cut for a selection of cutters and metals. Hands-on exercises will reinforce theory behind speeds, feeds, and tool selection in a machine shop environment.
Prepares students for the modern manufacturing environment and engages them to discover skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the high tech, advanced manufacturing workplace. Students will also learn about supervisory techniques, employment strategies, and ways to solve problems in a manufacturing environment.
This program is designed to provide skills for entry-level positions in the practice of electrical servicing and preparation of the National Electrical Code Examination.
Job Corps’ Painting, Pre-Apprentice training program teaches students the skills like how to apply paint, stain and coatings to walls and ceilings, buildings, bridges or other items such as cars, jewelry and ceramics, use machinery to apply the paints or use scaffolding and raise ladders, fill holes and cracks with plaster and putty, and utilize simple math to calculate dimensions. This program specifically prepares students for a Registered Apprenticeship after graduation. Students who complete the Painting, Pre-Apprentice training program can earn industry-recognized credentials from organizations such as the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and certifications in construction safety from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
St. Louis Community College's General STEM Transfer Studies, Associate in Science degree program is designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university and major in one of the traditional STEM areas (science, technology, engineering, math) with a heavy emphasis on undergraduate mathematics or science.Students should become familiar with the requirements at the institution to which they plan to transfer and select their transfer courses carefully. Many bachelor's degree programs have very specific requirements for the freshman and sophomore years, and it is the transferring student's responsibility to ensure that courses will apply to the bachelor's degree. Students are encouraged to talk to an advisor to assist in planning a program of study or if they are considering a change in academic plans. Job Corps’ Electrical, Pre-Apprentice training program teaches students the skills needed to work with electrical systems in homes, businesses and factories, including how to install, maintain and repair electrical power, communications, lighting and control systems in places of all sizes, read blueprints and diagrams and will need to follow state and local building regulations, and use various hand tools and power tools. This program specifically prepares students for a Registered Apprenticeship after graduation. Students who complete the Electrical, Pre-Apprentice training program can earn industry-recognized credentials from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and certifications in construction health and safety from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

The Electronics Engineering Technology program prepares students for a broad range of jobs in the electrical and electronic fields. Graduates of the program may become employed as broadcast technicians, business machine technicians, customer service representatives, computer service technicians, engineering technicians, laboratory technicians, field engineering technicians, engineering aides, electrical sales technicians, technical writers and electrical instrument technicians.

The Associate of Applied Science Degree in Advance Manufacturing with a concentration in Electrical Technology will prepare graduates to be an entry-level electrician/electrician's helper. Concepts covered in the concentration include AC/DC theory, wiring methods, conduit bending, NEC codes, fundamentals of programmable logic controllers, and distribution systems.
