Description: In collaboration with the SIB, General Dynamics Electric Boat offers a program where students manufacture common submarine components, complete with material kits, blueprints, and career exploration guides.

Type: Class Activity Unit

Description: In collaboration with RoboNation’s SeaPerch program, students build submersible ROVs (remotely operated vehicles) using provided materials, learning technical vocabulary and skills while gaining hands-on robotics experience and learning basic engineering, design, and science concepts.

Description: The Maritime Education Hub (MEH) is an open-source K–12 platform that immerses students in hands-on, technology-enabled maritime learning—covering shipbuilding, repair, ports, and more—while aligning with state standards and real-world careers.

Description: This free program uses the incredible stories of Medal of Honor recipients to teach courage, commitment, integrity, and patriotism, with activities and worksheets for students of all ages.

Type: Reading Comprehension Practice

Description: Their 10 lesson plans give classroom-ready activities for students that are reading about maritime careers, naval history, and how to build important things. They include some activities, like contrasting readings, that could become daily routines. These standards-aligned materials ensure that your students explore STEM careers and successes while building reading and writing skills.
