The Industrial Maintenance/Millwright Technology program is designed to help students exit the program with hands-on skills and knowledge recognized by industry partners as the key competencies to succeed in the field of industrial maintenance and/or millwright positions.This is a career program designed for students to go directly into the labor market upon completion. Although some of the courses in this program will transfer to four-year institutions, this program is not designed to be a transfer program of study; therefore, it is not subject to the terms and conditions of Alabama Transfers state transfer and articulation reporting system.
The Electrical Technology program prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to install, operate, maintain, and repair electric apparatus and systems such as residential, commercial, and industrial electric-power wiring; DC and AC motors, controls, and electrical distribution panels.The program includes instruction in:principles of electronics and electrical systemswiringpower transmissionsafetyindustrial and household appliancesjob estimationelectrical testing and inspectionand applicable codes and standardsGraduates of the Electrical Technology program may become employed as an industrial electrician, control technician, industrial electrical maintenance technician, instrumentation technician, PLC programmer, or industrial electrical inspector.Wallace Community College is approved by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), under the sponsorship of the Alabama Community College System, as an Accredited Training and Education Facility (ATEF) which will allow graduates of the Electrical Technology program to receive industry recognized credentials from NCCER.
Learn fundamental skills in machine shop operations, including CNC operation, positioning and coordinate systems, and finished part inspection. This certificate program incorporates theory and hand-on learning techniques to prepare students for entry-level positions in factories and machine shops.
The Industrial Systems Technology curriculum is designed to prepare or upgrade individuals to safely service, maintain, repair, or install equipment. Instruction includes theory and skill training needed for inspecting, testing, troubleshooting, and diagnosing industrial systems.Students will learn multi-craft technical skills in print reading, mechanical systems maintenance, electricity, hydraulics/pneumatics, welding, machining or fabrication, and includes various diagnostic and repair procedures. Practical application in these industrial systems will be emphasized and additional advanced coursework may be offered.Upon completion of this curriculum, graduates should be able to individually, or with a team, safely install, inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain industrial process and support equipment. Students will also be encouraged to develop their skills as life-long learners.

This pathway is designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year institution to complete a baccalaureate degree in electrical engineering. Requirements vary among institutions. The following program is a composite of the requirements of the first two years of the baccalaureate degree at most four-year institutions. Students should have successfully completed a minimum of four units of high school mathematics, including trigonometry, and three units of science in biology, physics and chemistry.

Job Corps’ Machining training program teaches students skills like crafting metal and other materials into machine parts, interpreting detailed drawings or files, such as blueprints, sketches, and those for computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), setting up, operating and disassembling manual, automatic and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools, and monitoring the feed and speed of machines. These skills prepare students for a career working for or manufacturing companies, plants or small machine shops. Machinists craft metal and other materials into machine parts and may work with tools operated by computer systems. Students should also consider pursuing Advanced Manufacturing Production Technician, Advanced Machinist and other Advanced Training programs at Job Corps as a part of their career pathway. Students who complete Machining training at Job Corps can earn nationally recognized credentials from the American Welding Society (AWS) and the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS).

Welders join metal parts using heat and/or pressure to form a permanent bond. Our entry-level certificate of proficiency in Welding Technology provides you with a fast track to using the skills you learn in the real world. Our highly qualified professors will teach you hands-on using the equipment and safety practices for several different welding processes. Additionally, you will learn blueprint reading as well as layout and fabrication skills. Come take your first step to a new career. Marketable skills for this award include: detail-oriented, technical skills, time management and reading prints/welding symbols.
The Precision Machining Technology program provides training in a broad technical background in CNC machine shop operations required of today's precision machining technicians. Covering an array of equipment and processes used to manufacture components used in the automotive, medical, military, and gas & oil industries, the students will learn basic and advanced principles and techniques using sawing, cutting, grinding, milling, and turning machine tools. Training will also provide an opportunity to learn basic and advanced precision measuring tools and techniques related to quality control and inspection of completed components. Advanced training will provide skills in G&M coding, Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) programming, Computer-Aided Drawing (CAD), and setup and operation of Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) machine tools such as Mills, Lathes, Wire EDM's, and Water Jet.
