This program provides the skills needed for a student to become an entry-level CADD operator and enter the workforce in the field of mechanical drafting. Coursework includes the creation of 2D and 3D CADD drawings using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or other modeling software in support of industry trends and technology advancements.
This program is designed to give students the technical and interpersonal skills necessary for placement into electronics technician positions. Students gain theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience with both basic and advanced electronics including circuits, controllers, and the machine to system interface.Upon completion of this program, students will be able toAnalyze, configure, troubleshoot, and assist in designing and measuring electrical and electronic circuits and systems;Read and describe the characteristics of basic circuitry and compute circuit capacity;Demonstrate wiring design and identify basic electrical components;Troubleshoot analog and digital circuits using standard and specialized test equipment;Program and troubleshoot PLC systems for basic system control;Describe how various industrial processes are coalesced using advanced PLC techniques;Demonstrate the use of electrical, electronic solid state, digital, and pneumatic transmitters in practical process control instrumentation; andEffectively communicate during problem solving and troubleshooting.
The Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Technology curriculum provides the basic knowledge to develop skills necessary to work with residential and light commercial systems. Topics include mechanical refrigeration, heating and cooling theory, electricity, controls, and safety. The diploma program covers air conditioning, furnaces, heat pumps, tools, and instruments. In addition, the AAS degree covers residential building codes, residential system sizing, and advanced comfort systems. Diploma graduates should be able to assist in the start-up, preventive maintenance, service, repair, and/or installation of residential and light commercial systems. AAS degree graduates should be able to demonstrate an understanding of system selection and balance and advanced systems.
The Welding Technology Program provides the opportunity to develop skills necessary to be a skilled entry level welder. There is an increasing demand for welders in a variety of industries including light and heavy construction, automobile, aircraft, gas and oil, railroad, machinery and manufacturing industries. These skills are developed through theory and hands-on application into various welding specialties including Blueprint Reading and Advanced Computer Aided Design, Oxy-Fuel Welding and Related Processes, Basic Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Basic Gas Metal Arc Welding, and Basic Gas Tungsten Arc Welding. Students learn to use hand-welding or flame-cutting equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products.Students find employment in industries related to construction, machinery, manufacturing oil and gas, and transportation. Graduates with entry level certifications will find challenging jobs with opportunity for rapid advancement.
This program is provided to meet the demands for an emerging technical workforce and is a direct response to local workforce and industry demand. Therefore, implementation of this program will expand employment and educational opportunities for area citizens.
The Basic Certificate program in Combination Welder is designed to provide students with training in basic welding skills in a shop setting. In addition to learning welding mathematics, blueprint reading, and layout and fabrication, students are also introduced to the basic fundamentals of job safety and ethics. Graduates of this program are qualified for entry level employment as an ARC, MIG, or TIG welder.
This program introduces students to workplace safety, blueprint reading, precision measuring, basic conventional machining and CNC operations including set-up and programming. Students are prepared for entry-level employment in the metal- working industry.
The Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) program provides students with the education and training to enter careers as climate control technicians. It is offered with a two-year or three-year track because of the large number of credits required.HVAC is in high demand. People and businesses depend on these systems and must keep them in good working order, regardless of economic conditions. As a result HVAC is a recession-proof career.

Electronic Engineering Technology provides the opportunity to acquire the skills needed to gain employment as an engineering technician in manufacturing and industry. Skills are developed by theoretical analysis and by the use of manipulative practice in the laboratory. The program gives students a broad theoretical and practical background in analog and digital electronic circuits. Graduates of the Electronic Engineering Technology program are prepared to find employment as technicians with the ability to prototype, to test, to program, to integrate, to install, to maintain, and to repair electronic systems. Because of the use of electronics in most industries, many employment opportunities in varied environments exist. High school prerequisites for this program are Algebra I and II, and a GPA of at least 2.5
