Our Applied Welding Technology program is built so that students get hands-on experience, not just learning the different kinds of welding but also learning how to use them.WyoTech’s curriculum is built by some of the top professionals in the industry and customized to train our students in project-based welding- giving you the opportunity to gain the welding and fabrication skills to enter nearly any area of the welding industry. Our welding program is designed to give them the experience they need to pursue a career in anything from shipyards to fabrication, heavy equipment to pipelines, or any of the countless opportunities in the welding industry. Our training follows the standards of some of the best associations in the welding industry- The American Welding Society (AWS), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and the American Petroleum Institute (API). WyoTech’s welding testing procedures and qualifications are built around the standards of these institutions, giving you the skills you need to succeed in the industry. In addition, our program is built on project-based learning. Our students will not only learn the fundamentals of welding, cutting, metallurgy, fabrication and blueprint reading, but also will put these skills to use by building different training projects throughout the 6-month program. Our Applied Welding Technology program also follows the schedule of the trades. With one class occurring during the day, and a different one taking place during the nighttime hours, this class offers the chance to prepare yourself for the shiftwork that the trade industry often requires.
This course is intended to teach the fundamental principles of hole-making and manual knee mill operations. Students will learn the use of both a drill press and manual mill and will practice skills associated with this equipment in a machine shop environment.
Job Corps’ OTP Advanced Manufacturing training program connects Job Corps students with other local training providers like technical or community colleges, trade schools or employers to provide specialized education and training services. Students learn skills like reading and understanding schematics and blueprints, positioning or aligning components and parts either manually or with hoists, using hand tools or machines to assemble parts, conducting quality control checks, and describing the commonalities and differences of the alternating current and direct current (AC/DC) systems (e.g., wire color codes in both). These skills prepare students for a career in manufacturing, production engineering and machine shops. Students who complete Advanced Manufacturing training at Job Corps can earn nationally recognized credentials from the American Welding Society (AWS) and the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS).
This associate degree program will equip students to pursue career options ranging from electrical system technology, fiber optic installations, PLCs (programmable logic controllers), and field operation. Students will work with faculty that possess industrial experience, which is shared in the classroom. Several design projects are incorporated into every course to apply real-world as well as virtual software applications to knowledge acquired.
This course provides students with a foundational understanding of CNC milling machine operation, focusing on G-code programming, basic work holding techniques, and the use of the Haas CNC control system. Students will gain hands-on experience in setting up and machining components using G-code, while developing the skills necessary to effectively operate a Haas CNC mill. A strong emphasis will also be placed on mechanical blueprint reading, which will support students’ success in understanding and executing precise machining tasks.
Job Corps’ Painting, Pre-Apprentice training program teaches students the skills like how to apply paint, stain and coatings to walls and ceilings, buildings, bridges or other items such as cars, jewelry and ceramics, use machinery to apply the paints or use scaffolding and raise ladders, fill holes and cracks with plaster and putty, and utilize simple math to calculate dimensions. This program specifically prepares students for a Registered Apprenticeship after graduation. Students who complete the Painting, Pre-Apprentice training program can earn industry-recognized credentials from organizations such as the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and certifications in construction safety from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
This AAS Degree is designed to provide the student with knowledge of the practical application of principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services. Engineering Technology graduates will be able to assist engineers in designing, developing, using, and maintaining all types of equipment. They will work independently or in teams doing product evaluation and testing, where they adjust, test, and repair equipment. Additionally, Technologists may be involved in the manufacturing, deployment, or servicing of equipment. With 16 elective credit options, the program can be customized to meet a student's or employer's interest. Students who graduate with this degree may consider transferring to another college or university to complete a bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology.
The process of welding uses heat to permanently bond objects together. Because of its strength, welding is used in shipbuilding, automobile manufacturing and repair, aerospace applications, building and bridge construction, and thousands of other manufacturing activities. The Welding Department at LBWCC prepares students for a broad background in welding with many diverse employment options. The program includes fundamental processes and skills, with an emphasis on students earning nationally-recognized certifications. Program graduates receive instruction in a variety of welding processes, including shielded metal arc welding and gas tungsten arc welding, as well as visual inspection and blueprint reading.

This program is designed for those seeking employment in an electrical-related field or industrial/ residential wiring field. It will also provide updated training for those currently employed to increase their knowledge.
The Manufacturing Foundations certificate is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to create engineering drawings using CAD systems including: Dimensions and tolerances; multiple views and projections; assemblies and bill of materials; and 3-D models. students will learn the manufacturing process, production efficiency, safety procedures, the use of precision measuring devices, and Internet of Things applications to manufacturing.
