Our combo II course is approved by our accrediting agency ACCSC and the state of higher ed in ND and MN. Our Combo II welding course is 640 total hrs. and 16 weeks long. The course consists of 120 hrs. of GTAW, 200 hrs. of GMAW, and 320 hrs. of SMAW. We don't take more than 15 students per instructor and our students spend 85% of their time in the shop welding.
The Advanced Manufacturing Machine Technology certificate provides students with the opportunity to train in a hands-on manufacturing environment. Throughout the duration of their training, students will develop an advanced level of skillsets that will lead directly into a career in the vast world of manufacturing, such as an entry level machinist or a quality inspector. The programs were developed in response to Connecticut manufacturers’ needs for a highly skilled workforce to match the needs of the regional industry sector partnerships around the state of Connecticut that graduates of the program are placed with. The student who completes the Advanced Manufacturing Machine Technology certificate program has a choice to pursue employment or to matriculate in an associate degree program. To earn this certificate, you will choose nine directed electives based on regional industry needs for specific courses.
The Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing (ATDM) Program is specifically designed to help adult learners earn the skills necessary to make an immediate impact in the submarine industrial base (SIB), the system of companies producing parts for the U.S. military to purchase. Speed to skills and focus is the key. The training is rigorous, with six hundred hours of instruction being completed in just four months. Graduates complete the program with industry-recognized certifications, job opportunities, and connections to companies that are hiring.

This certificate provides foundational course work in the engineering technology curriculum. Upon completion of the certificate students can select a pathway in civil, electronics, or mechanical engineering technology.

The Welding Applications Level 2II Certificate and the AAS consist of the same welding courses. The only difference between them is the AAS requires a small amount of additional academic coursework that the certificate does not require. Upon completion, students should possess the skills and knowledge for successful careers in welding. The welding portion of both awards prepares students to successfully apply technical knowledge and skills in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) to join or cut metal surfaces. Students are able to choose from three different emphasis: Multiple Welding Process, Pipe Welding and Fitting, or Fabrication.
Lorain County Community College now offers the first bachelor of applied science in microelectronic manufacturing in Ohio.The new bachelor of applied science in microelectronic manufacturing is an industry-tailored, hands-on program with core content in Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and microelectronic manufacturing, design, assembly and prototyping with additional content in quality, electronics and drafting. Building on the associate of applied science in MEMS, the bachelor's degree program will develop your knowledge in computer science, electronics, soldering, chemistry and mechanics and teaches you to perform work on a microscopic scale. As manufacturing equipment becomes more advanced and complex, trained and skilled technicians are needed. As an industrial electrician, you may perform a variety of functions related to electrical controls, equipment, and wiring in an industrial plant or worksite. Your work may involve testing, troubleshooting, installation, and repair of the electrical components. In addition, you may read and interpret blueprints and specifications, as well as remain current on electrical code specifications for the area.The Industrial Electrical Technician One-Year Certificate program builds on the related short-term certificate program and will provide an introduction to the necessary knowledge and hands-on experience with electrical circuits, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and other mechanical systems. You may work as an entry-level electrical maintenance technician or choose to continue your education by applying the credits earned in this program to an Associate of Applied Science in Manufacturing Engineering Technology -Industrial Electrical Technician.
Prepare for a career designing and maintaining the complex mechanical and electrical control systems that keep automated manufacturing lines up and running. Students will train on over $1 million worth of equipment, including robotics and programmable logic controllers, which simulates a real-world factory floor. The program will prepare students for eight duty areas aligned with National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS) including: maintenance operations; mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic process, and process control systems; and maintenance piping.
This course is tailored specifically for educators who aim to teach the next generation of CNC machinists. Building on the fundamentals of CNC operation, students will gain a strong understanding of how to instruct others in the basic operation of CNC milling machines. The primary focus will be on G-code programming, basic workholding techniques, and the Haas CNC control system, all of which are essential for effective CNC machining. Students will learn how to set up and machine components using G-code, while also developing the skills needed to teach these processes to future students. Emphasis will also be placed on understanding and interpreting mechanical blueprints, ensuring educators are prepared to guide their students toward success in CNC machining.
Enter the thriving world of design. Our program will prepare you for work in a variety of disciplines including architecture, engineering, graphics, or design. Students gain experience with advanced CAD software and applications, allowing them to graduate with leading-edge skills.
