The course is 2 weeks (80 hours) long designed to prepare candidates to enter the outside machinist department at NNS. The course will cover safety, an introduction to a variety of tools and machinist skills, a validation of basic machinist competencies, and an evaluation of employability skills. This program is designed to be 90% hands-on, focusing on a candidate’s ability to follow verbal and written instruction, display manual dexterity consistent with the craft, accomplish specific tasks in a reasonable time, and perform all activities in a safe manner.
In the Precision Manufacturing Boot Camp, students learn basic machining, along with an introduction to Mastercam, Solidworks and G and M Code programming. Students also learn basic CNC Mill and Lathe setup, operation, and programming.

*This course prepares you to take the NCCER assessments and performance tests (testing costs included in tuition)IM E&I Level 2 covers Industrial Safety for E & I Technicians, Introduction to the National Electrical Code, Electrical Theory, Alternating Current, E & I Test Equipment, Flow, Pressure, Level, and Temperature, Process Mathematics, Hand Bending, Tubing, Clean, Purge, and Test Tubing and Piping Systems, Instrument Drawings and Documents, Part 1, Conductors and Cables, and Conductor Terminations and Splices.
The Associate in Applied Science degree in Advanced Manufacturing with a concentration in Industrial Maintenance/Instrumentation will prepare graduates for employment as entry-level instrumentation technicians. Concepts covered in teh concentration include electronics for electricians, instrumentation circuits and systems, transducers, detectors, actuators, control devices, and fundamentals of pressure, force, weight, motion, liquid level, and fluid flow.
This course will cover the overall operation of a CNC (Computer Numeric Controller) machine. Topics include safety, measurement tools, processes, production, setup, loading tools, offsets, developing and loading a program, and inspecting a part. Training is taught in a blended format of 180 hours of classroom and lab, with an additional online learning component. Additionally, after successful completion of all class testing, the student will receive the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) Mill Operator and CNC Lathe Operator certifications. Job Corps’ Painting, Pre-Apprentice training program teaches students the skills like how to apply paint, stain and coatings to walls and ceilings, buildings, bridges or other items such as cars, jewelry and ceramics, use machinery to apply the paints or use scaffolding and raise ladders, fill holes and cracks with plaster and putty, and utilize simple math to calculate dimensions. This program specifically prepares students for a Registered Apprenticeship after graduation. Students who complete the Painting, Pre-Apprentice training program can earn industry-recognized credentials from organizations such as the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and certifications in construction safety from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

The curriculum for this certificate teaches basic electrical/electronic fundamentals needed to enter the electronics technician workforce. Courses combine a mixture of classroom and lab instruction using the classroom to present basic theory and the lab to reinforce that theory with hands-on practical experiments.
This Welding Skills Certificate program provides students with the fundamental skills of welding. All credits earned in this Certificate program may be applied toward the Welding Certificate and the Associate of Applied Arts and Sciences in Welding Technology.
The Industrial Technology program prepares students for a career in commercial or industrial maintenance and installation. The career field consists of Maintenance Technologists who are specialists that install, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial machinery to ensure proper functionality. Students learn how to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment used in manufacturing industries as well as the skills needed to maintain facilities/buildings.By completing the Industrial Technology Specialist Associate in Applied Science, students will become proficient in the following skills: mechanical equipment installation, troubleshooting, and repair; electrical control, motor drives and PLCs (programmable logic controllers); wiring, installation, and troubleshooting; hydraulic and pneumatic installation and troubleshooting; preventative maintenance; variable frequency drives installation and troubleshooting; conveyor systems operations; industrial manufacturing; machine troubleshooting; pump systems; process control; building automation; and pipe systems.
