Acquire all the skills offered during Digital design training at CCAT's Digital Thread Lab. On route to this credential you will complete Design training focused on CAD for MBD, CAD quality and validation, digital costing, and product lifecycle management. Program Outcomes: 1. Develop an awareness of the digital thread (DT), model-based engineering (MBE) and model-based definition (MBD). 2. Become familiar with technical data packages (TDP), the common file types, and the role, use and definition of derivative files.3. View and organize product and manufacturing information (PMI) on a 3D model.4. Apply dimensions, notes and geomtric dimensioning and tolerancing schemes to models. 5. Identify quality defects in a 3D CAD model that would negatively impact downstream model reuse.6.Generate, view and interpret CAD quality tests using advanced software viewers.7. Generate estimates of part manufacturing costs automatically with model-based definition in CAD software.8. Use PLM collaboration tools to share files and manage MBD data, Technical Data Packages, 3D Work Instructions.
Job Corps’ Welding training program teaches students skills like joining metals using a variety of techniques and processes, understanding and following safety procedures including properly using safety equipment, and identifying and explaining the composition and classification of metals, and designing and building a fixture for assembling simple parts. These skills prepare students for a career working in a variety of jobs for manufacturing companies, construction companies, trade shops, shipbuilders or repair shops. Students should also consider pursuing Advanced Manufacturing Production Technician, Advanced Machinist and other Advanced Training programs at Job Corps as a part of their career pathway. Students who complete Welding training at Job Corps can earn nationally recognized credentials from the American Welding Society (AWS) and the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS).

The Associate of Applied Science degree in Advanced Manufacturing with a concentration in Industrial Maintenance/HVAC will prepare graduates for employment as entry-level HVAC technicians. Concepts covered in the concentration include fundamentals of electric and gas heating systems, refrigerant transition and recovery, commercial/industrial wiring, and NEC Codes.
An Occupational Skills Award (OSA) is the most basic sequence of courses that will prepare students for employment. Students are not able to declare an OSA as a major, or pursue one as an end goal. However, almost all OSAs are built into other certificates and/or majors, and they will be automatically awarded to students as they complete coursework in those certificates and/or majors.
The Climate Control Technology program is designed to prepare students for a career in the fields of air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration.
Engineering technicians build, test, service, and repair electronic equipment used in a variety of industries. Topics covered in this program include DC, AC, and digital circuits, PLC, motor controls, hydraulics and pneumatics.
The Energy Technician Certificate prepares students to apply for high demand lineman and maintenance jobs in the energy industry. Students completing the certificate will have a solid foundation in electrical theory, working with electricity and working safely; and will also receive physical conditioning needed for the demands of these jobs. Students that successfully complete the certificate will receive interviews with area utility companies.
Job Corps’ Electrical, Pre-Apprentice training program teaches students the skills needed to work with electrical systems in homes, businesses and factories, including how to install, maintain and repair electrical power, communications, lighting and control systems in places of all sizes, read blueprints and diagrams and will need to follow state and local building regulations, and use various hand tools and power tools. This program specifically prepares students for a Registered Apprenticeship after graduation. Students who complete the Electrical, Pre-Apprentice training program can earn industry-recognized credentials from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and certifications in construction health and safety from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
Computer Aided Design (CAD) has replaced the manual drafting process and allows three-dimensional design of parts and components in industries that include automotive, steel, plastics, and more. The designs that CAD operators produce are used to control automated machines through CAM (computer aided machining), so it is an essential skill for the manufacturing process. While many people believe that all manufacturing has moved offshore, Ohio's manufacturing industry -particularly in the CAD/CAM space -is still alive and well. In fact, it offers excellent job opportunities for skilled CAD operators.The Computer Aided Design Operator program is a one-year certificate program that builds on the Short-Term Computer Aided Design certificate. It is designed to provide you with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to understand the Computer Aided Machining (CAM) process and operate industry-standard Computer Aided Design (CAD) software. It covers fundamental knowledge in the manufacturing process and problem solving as well as hands-on experience with modern equipment.You may choose to continue your education by applying the credits earned in this program to an Associate of Applied Science in Manufacturing Engineering Technology -Computer Aided Design.
This program prepares the student for entry into an aviation maintenance related field by providing foundational administrative and mechanical skills with an emphasis on sheet metal structural practices.This is a career program designed for students to go directly into the labor market upon completion. Although some of the courses in this program will transfer to four-year institutions, this program is not designed to be a transfer program of study; therefore, it is not subject to the terms and conditions of Alabama Transfers state transfer and articulation reporting system.
Additive Manufacturing is a process that uses 3D printing to create physical objects from a digital model. The process involves adding material in layers and using a fusing application, such as a heated printhead or laser, to bind the layers.The ideal candidate for the additive manufacturing program would be someone with basic computer skills, basic mechanical aptitude, and the ability to visualize working in 3D space.
