The Electrical Systems Technology curriculum is designed to provide training for persons interested in the installation and maintenance of electrical systems found in residential, commercial, and industrial facilities.Coursework, most of which is hands-on, will include such topics as AC/DC theory, basic wiring practices, programmable logic controllers, industrial motor controls, applications of the National Electric Code, and other subjects as local needs require.Upon completion, students should qualify for a variety of jobs in the electrical field as an on-the-job trainee or apprentice assisting in the layout, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems.
Standard Welding (180 hours) is designed to improve the welder's skills in Shielded Metal Arc Welding in all four positions on carbon steel plates.
A well-rounded curriculum allows students hands-on experience in all the stages of the aircrafts life from design to production and repair. Coursework in the program includes CATIA, composite fabrication, composite repair and lean manufacturing.
This advanced training teaches you how to study the cumulative effect of part tolerances in order to reduce product costs. You'll learn how to establish part tolerances, perform 2-D analyses of designs, use geometric tolerances in stack ups, and much more. Numerous assemblies will be studied. A workshop to apply tolerance stack-up analysis techniques to student supplied problems may be included.
This specialization of the Technical Studies program offers work-based learning opportunities and real-world experiences with courses in mechanical codes, heat pumps, direct digital controllers and more. The associate degree offers work-based learning opportunities, providing real-world experience in the industry. Virginia Peninsula also offers an Air Conditioning and Refrigeration certificate that satisfies the classroom requirements for Journeyman licensing classroom contact hours.

Hydraulics, electronics and even robots are part of the instruction at CCCC.You train with the same state-of-the-art equipment found in the real-world workplace.
This is an entry level certificate that all Applied Engineering students will proceed through prior to pursuing specific focus areas. This program will give the student a broad overview and introduction to the technologies and processes in manufacturing. Studies include, robotics, fluid power, industrial electricity and controls, welding theory, CNC (computer numerical control) theory, CAD (Computer Aided Design) and Rapid Prototyping (maker spaces). Students will learn safety, math and material science while learning about the manufacturing technologies in this program
Job Corps’ Painting, Pre-Apprentice training program teaches students the skills like how to apply paint, stain and coatings to walls and ceilings, buildings, bridges or other items such as cars, jewelry and ceramics, use machinery to apply the paints or use scaffolding and raise ladders, fill holes and cracks with plaster and putty, and utilize simple math to calculate dimensions. This program specifically prepares students for a Registered Apprenticeship after graduation. Students who complete the Painting, Pre-Apprentice training program can earn industry-recognized credentials from organizations such as the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and certifications in construction safety from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

(Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education) includes a two-year technical Associate degree that combines cutting-edge curriculum that supports advanced manufacturing technology, paid working experience, along with learning highly sought after business principles and best practices of a world-class manufacturer.
Collaborative robots, or co-robots, are light, industrial robots that work alongside humans. They must be programmed and operated by technicians with specialized skills.Wake Tech has worked with an advisory board of area employers to create a certification series that will train you for local jobs. The Collaborative Robotics Certificate program offers three certificates -Technician I, Technician II and Programmer -and employers are eager to hire individuals who complete the stackable series.

Computer Aided Machining (CAM) is an important part of the manufacturing process as it facilitates the control of automated machines to product parts.The Computer Aided Machining Operator program is a one-year certificate program that builds on the Short-Term Computer Aided Machining/Manufacturing Process certificate. It is designed to provide you with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to setup, program and operate computer numerical control (CNC) machines in a manufacturing setting. You'll get an excellent background in math and problem solving as well as real-world training with modern equipment.You may choose to continue your education by applying the credits earned in this program to an Associate of Applied Science in Manufacturing Engineering Technology -Computer Aided Machining.

Building upon the foundation laid in the introductory course, students acquire entry-level proficiency in a broader spectrum of marine trade skills. From inboard and outboard systems to carpentry, fiberglass construction and repair, electricity, welding, and the nuanced art of vessel storage and handling, students become adept navigators of the marine service landscape.
