This program prepares students to fill mechanical engineering technician (or related) career fields. It also lays a foundation for students who plan on pursuing a four-year mechanical technology curriculum. The program includes topics in technical computing, mechanical analysis, manufacturing systems, and material testing. The Mechanical Engineering Technology Program is accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET, https://www.abet.org.Prospective students should take three years of rigorous college preparatory mathematics (four are recommended), including algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. One year of high school, laboratory science is required (chemistry and physics are recommended). The Computer-Aided Drafting certificate or AOS Degree may serve as preparation for this program; check with the School of STEM - Career for an advisor.
Mechanical Design Technology is an exciting program that can be taken as a standalone degree program or be connected to our 2+2 MET program with UNH Manchester.Study at NCC where our professors are professionals in industry during the day and dedicated instructors in your evening classroom.
Engineering uses the physical sciences and mathematics to design and develop products and systems. It uses advanced techniques to find solutions to technical problems and other complex issues facing society. This program represents the first two years of a baccalaureate engineering program. Students must transfer to a four-year college or university that has an engineering program.
The college offers an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Welding and Fabrication Technology. This program combines practical training with classes on the background knowledge needed for welding occupations. Students get the opportunity to practice and develop welding skills in the laboratory and may take an examination for certification. The program is designed for those looking to acquire technical knowledge and skills for welding, fabrication, and related occupations. The curriculum includes courses on manufacturing materials, processes, and systems, such as shear and press brake operation, blueprint reading, shop drawing and layout, and general education classes.
The Machine Tool Technology program is designed to emphasize the concepts of manually operated and computer-driven metal cutting machinery. Instruction will include cutting principles, programming techniques, computer controls, and computer numerical control (CNC) machine tool operations. In addition, the interfacing of automated equipment with computer aided design (CAD) and computer aided manufacturing (CAM) systems will be addressed.

The Electronics Engineering Technology program prepares students to enter the growing and complex field of electronics technology. Electronics technicians work in manufacturing, industry, business, and medical facilities. They operate various types of electronic equipment, industrial control systems, and computer systems. They also provide technical assistance in designing, constructing, measuring, and analyzing circuits.

In this introduction to service and repair ofwatercraft and marina operations, studentslearn marine trade skills in the areas includingshop and boating safety, inboard and outboardsystems, carpentry, electricity, and vesselstorage/handling. The course is based on theNational MarineTrades Curriculum, developed by the AmericanBoat and Yacht Council (ABYC).
The road to becoming a welding Journeyman starts with apprenticeship training. Schoolcraft College accomplishes that mission by providing training, leadership, and partnership with local trade unions in order to uphold union values and the principles of service and professionalism. Coursework will prepare students for union apprenticeship by providing instruction in fundamental welding equipment and techniques, project planning, layout, fabrication, safety and technical math. Students completing the coursework successfully will also earn American Welding Society certification in at least one welding procedure. The pre-apprenticeship certificate will help ensure that students have the skills, knowledge, and training necessary to be safe on the jobsite, competitive in the workplace and satisfied in their careers. This certificate creates an option for entry into the welding fabrication certificate and the welding joining technology associate degree.
Schoolcraft's Associate of Engineering degree is designed for students who intend to pursue a bachelor's degree in engineering. It allows the student to establish a strong academic foundation in mathematics and science and complete courses to fulfill general education requirements-all before moving on to a bachelor's degree program at another college or university.
Students learn to use advanced computer workstations with various CADD software applications. Students will receive instruction and practice in the planning, design, and preparation of high-quality technical drawings for a variety of projects. In addition to technical courses, there are supporting courses in communications, mathematics, and social sciences. These courses serve to broaden the student's general education background and thus better prepare students for employment and advancement in the career field.
