Industrial Electronics LBWCC can teach you and prepare you for a job in the field of electronics. The Industrial Electronics Program includes instruction in AC, DC, digital, and solid state fundamentals; blueprint reading; material handling; motor controls; circuit fabrication; hydraulics and pneumatics; programmable logic controllers; construction wiring; environmental controls; motors and transformers; networking; and robotics.
The Associate in Applied Science degree in Advanced Manufacturing with a concentration in Industrial Maintenance/Instrumentation will prepare graduates for employment as entry-level instrumentation technicians. Concepts covered in teh concentration include electronics for electricians, instrumentation circuits and systems, transducers, detectors, actuators, control devices, and fundamentals of pressure, force, weight, motion, liquid level, and fluid flow.
Job Corps’ Electrical, Pre-Apprentice training program teaches students the skills needed to work with electrical systems in homes, businesses and factories, including how to install, maintain and repair electrical power, communications, lighting and control systems in places of all sizes, read blueprints and diagrams and will need to follow state and local building regulations, and use various hand tools and power tools. This program specifically prepares students for a Registered Apprenticeship after graduation. Students who complete the Electrical, Pre-Apprentice training program can earn industry-recognized credentials from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and certifications in construction health and safety from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
Manufacturing Technologies A.A.S (Associate of Applied Science): This program offers a comprehensive curriculum in manufacturing technologies, preparing students for various roles in the manufacturing industry. The total range between 61 - 63, including general education and specialized courses. This program is under the General Technology department and aims to provide students with fundamental skills required in the manufacturing field.
The electrical field continues to grow in its scope and employment opportunities due to technological advances as well as economic changes and expansion. Electrical work is becoming more complex with electronics, microprocessor based controls, and data communications integrated into residential, commercial, and industrial electrical systems. This increasing complexity is creating an ever-growing need for well trained and qualified licensed electricians and electrical technicians.Classroom instruction highlights contemporary and evolving electrical technologies applications. Students enrolled in the program will be provided with the opportunity to be issued a NH electrical apprentice identification card. The identification card will allow the student to earn practical working experience hours, as well as related classroom hours in accordance with NH electrical apprenticeship requirements.The Associate Degree classes are held during the day and in the evening to accommodate a variety of scheduling needs. Students who attend full time during the day are able to complete the program in two calendar years, once any necessary developmental coursework is completed. Evening students will take a minimum of four years to complete the program.
The Automated Systems Technology - Mechatronics program is a field of study that focuses on the integration of mechanical, electrical (electronics), fluid power (hydraulics or pneumatics), and computer technologies to control machine movements. The new term for this is “Mechatronics.” The students’ studies begin with courses in mechanics, sensors, basic electronics, pneumatics, control logic and robot programming and control. The student goes on to learn how to program a specific Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), and then writes and troubleshoots programs to control different types of industrial machines. Students will learn soldering skills, schematic diagram reading, advanced programming of PLCs, Robots, and Network systems.
This 336-hour course is designed to teach students how to interpret blueprints, perform shop math calculations, work with precisionmeasurements and measuring tools, set-up and complete projects on both traditional lathes and mills as well as Computer NumericalControl (CNC) machines, perform basic and advanced machining operations, and make decisions to ensure that work quality ismaintained.The curriculum is designed to prepare students for employment in entry-level positions, such as machine setup, operation, andprogramming while providing the fundamental knowledge and skills required to become an expert Machinist. This training alsoteaches students attention to detail, the ability to work to close tolerances, the skills to improve their mechanical aptitude, and how tosolve mechanical challenges by working through logical steps. Shop safety, including OSHA-10 Certification Training, and good shopwork practices, including routine machine shop maintenance activities are also covered. The tuition for this class coversdesignated reading materials and lab fees and a student tool kit. Provides the knowledge and skills leading to immediate employment in the field of engineering technologies and manufacturing related fields. People who wish to prepare for industry certification or qualify for promotion in a present position to another field may benefit from this program. Students may use their 18 credits of technical electives to explore a variety of technical electives.
Job Corps’ Painting, Pre-Apprentice training program teaches students the skills like how to apply paint, stain and coatings to walls and ceilings, buildings, bridges or other items such as cars, jewelry and ceramics, use machinery to apply the paints or use scaffolding and raise ladders, fill holes and cracks with plaster and putty, and utilize simple math to calculate dimensions. This program specifically prepares students for a Registered Apprenticeship after graduation. Students who complete the Painting, Pre-Apprentice training program can earn industry-recognized credentials from organizations such as the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and certifications in construction safety from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
The Professional Welder prepares a graduate for entry-level positions in structural, pipe,and thin alloy and/or pipeline welding. Key welding processes include SMAW, MIG, TIG,High Frequency TIG, and Fluxcore. The program consists of six five-week courses for a totalof 30 weeks, 25 semester credit hours, and 750 contact hours of instruction. Many of allnew students elect the Professional Welder program because of its specialty courses andexpanded welding competencies. The Professional Welder graduate acquires many skillsand can branch off into various career and employment opportunities. Upon successfulcompletion of this program, students will receive a Diploma.
The Skilled Trades Program is designed to serve individuals who have a background or interest in pursuing a skilled trade such as automotive, electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, carpentry and welding and who desire to advance their career, through continued education, into a supervisory or management role. The program provides for up to 30 credits to be awarded toward the Associate in Applied Science Degree for a trade or technical certificate completed at the college and may include equivalent work or training experiences assessed as Credit for Prior Learning. The curriculum includes general education courses that will strengthen communication, problem solving and critical thinking skills essential to career advancement.
