If you’re interested in educational and/or career goals and objectives that are not met specifically by one of the school’s traditional majors, the interdisciplinary engineering studies program may be an option for you.This type of major is considered an individualized education plan and may involve educational experiences in more than one school or college of the University. Contracts that involve advanced or specialized courses from more than one college are considered cross-college contract programs and must have the explicit approval of both schools or colleges. You may have the opportunity to take courses within business and communications, for example. You will have an opportunity to follow the common first year and second year as other engineering programs do.

As manufacturing equipment becomes more advanced and complex, trained and skilled technicians are needed. As an industrial electrician, you may perform a variety of functions related to electrical controls, equipment, and wiring in an industrial plant or worksite. Your work may involve testing, troubleshooting, installation, and repair of the electrical components. In addition, you may read and interpret blueprints and specifications, as well as remain current on electrical code specifications for the area.Building on the Industrial Electrical Technician One-Year Certificate program, this coursework will provide an introduction to the necessary knowledge and hands-on experience with electrical circuits, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and other mechanical systems, making you job-ready for an entry level position as an electrical maintenance technician.
Introductory non-destructive testing training covering visual testing, liquid penetrant testing, magnetic particle testing, and ultrasonic testing fundamentals used in maritime manufacturing.
This program offers hands-on instruction in a variety of essential construction trades, including carpentry, interior and exterior wall repair, plumbing systems, rough-ins, troubleshooting, HVAC, and finishing techniques such as ceramic tile installation, spackling, and painting. Students will gain practical experience using tools and equipment specific to each area of construction, preparing them for a range of tasks in the field. Upon completion, students will have the opportunity to earn valuable industry certifications, including Customer Service Certificate, 10-Hour OSHA Card, Lockout/Tagout, Rigging, and Forklift, ensuring they are job-ready for a successful career in multiple industries.
The Mechanical Design Certificate Program includes all of the courses to prepare students for an entry level position as an engineering technician. The topics of Computer Aided Design (CAD) using AutoCAD and 3D parametric modeling with SolidWorks are featured in this program. Engineering graphics, industrial tool design, and prototyping (ie. 3D printing) are also covered in this program. All credits earned in this certificate program may be applied toward the Associate in Applied Arts and Sciences in Mechanical Design.

The Nondestructive Testing (NDT) program is a cooperative effort between the WSU Tech and National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR). The associate degree program is a sequence of courses designed to produce a technician who understands NDT's role in the aerospace industry, has mastered the American Society for Nondestructive Testing's coursework for Levels I and II certification and has the depth and breadth of knowledge which comes from general education courses.
The Quality Tech course is a short-term training program designed for individuals interested in quality assurance and control within the manufacturing industry. It’s ideal for those who want to work in manufacturing but prefer a non-traditional trade role.Students gain foundational skills in blueprint reading, precision measurement, manufacturing processes, Lean Six Sigma, and industrial safety. The program includes two industry-recognized credentials: OSHA 10 – General Industry and Six Sigma Yellow Belt, along with a C-TEC Certificate of Completion.With a strong focus on hands-on lab experience, the course also emphasizes workplace readiness and soft skills development, helping students build confidence in communication and professionalism—key traits for success in the quality field.
Designed to provide occupational safety instruction, information, and knowledge of safety compliance in accordance with current OSHA regulations and inspection procedures.
The Associate in Science (AS-T) transfer degree is designed to prepare computer science, science and engineering majors for transfer to a four-year institution with junior standing. The AS-T transfer degree will generally provide the transferring student with at least ninety quarter (60 semester) credits upon entry to a four-year institution. This transfer degree will satisfy some, but not all, of the general education requirements at the receiving institution. This degree requires successful completion of a minimum of 90 credits as outlined.
