The Refrigeration Technologies (RT) program contains seven (7) courses. The objective of the RT program is to train and prepare students for entry as service and maintenance technicians in jobs that utilize technologies employed in the fields of air conditioning (both heating and cooling), and refrigeration. Students completing this program should have an understanding of mechanical and electrical principles and will have practical exposure to diagnosing, servicing and repairing common types of problems in related equipment. Upon successful completion of this program, students will receive a Diploma.
The Machine Tool Technology program is designed to prepare individuals for employment in the industry as machinists. Students in the Machine Tool Technology program manufacture, assemble, and repair metal parts, subassemblies, and complete machines. Increasingly, the machines used to produce these metal parts are numerically controlled and most of those are computer numerically controlled (CNC). Graduates earn The Machine Tool Technology Associate in Science Degree.
The Climate Control Technology program is designed to prepare students for a career in the fields of air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration.
Job Corps’ Electrical, Pre-Apprentice training program teaches students the skills needed to work with electrical systems in homes, businesses and factories, including how to install, maintain and repair electrical power, communications, lighting and control systems in places of all sizes, read blueprints and diagrams and will need to follow state and local building regulations, and use various hand tools and power tools. This program specifically prepares students for a Registered Apprenticeship after graduation. Students who complete the Electrical, Pre-Apprentice training program can earn industry-recognized credentials from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and certifications in construction health and safety from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
This program is designed to provide students basic skills in the field of general industrial maintenance and repair. The student will develop skills through theory and a hands-on approach to learning.
The Electrical Systems Technology curriculum is designed to provide training for persons interested in the installation and maintenance of electrical systems found in residential, commercial, and industrial facilities.Coursework, most of which is hands-on, will include such topics as AC/DC theory, basic wiring practices, programmable logic controllers, industrial motor controls, applications of the National Electric Code, and other subjects as local needs require.Upon completion, students should qualify for a variety of jobs in the electrical field as an on-the-job trainee or apprentice assisting in the layout, installation, and maintenance of electrical systems.
This certificate provides detailed knowledge of welding principles as applied to modern manufacturing processes and applications. It will provide the student with the requisite advanced skills necessary to weld in today’s technological environment. The Welding Technologies and Fabrication certificate is a practical and “hands-on” program designed to teach the technical skills required to be successful in the welding trade. This curriculum is a mix of theory and practice focusing on the four major welding processes, automation, and fabrication. The student who completes the Welding and Fabrication Technologies certificate program has a choice to pursue employment or to matriculate in an associate degree program.
The Basic Welding Short-Term Certificate program is designed to provide you with the specialized knowledge and skills to be prepared for entry-level employment in a variety of industries that utilize welding. An emphasis is placed on basic welding skills, code and regulations and the fundamental knowledge to be successful on the job.You may choose to continue your education by applying the credits earned in this program to the Welding Operator One-Year Certificate or an Associate of Applied Science in Welding Technology.
The Industrial Mechanic program prepares students for employment in industrial mechanics. This program teaches skills required for troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of mechanical systems.
LCCC's Mechatronics Program is an exciting, job-focused program that will give you an understanding of how MEMS are designed and fabricated and prepare you to work as an entry-level technician. We've partnered with six different Northeastern Ohio microelectronics companies who looking for trained workers to ensure that our classes teach you exactly what they want you to know on the job.When you're enrolled in MEMS courses at LCCC, you'll get hands-on experience and training working at the operator level in a class-10,000 cleanroom located on college grounds. You'll get to work with materials, equipment, protocols, and processes related to the microelectronics industry and learn theory of MEMS design, sensor and microcircuit operation, material and size constraints, microelectronic packaging, printed circuit design, manufacturing, and project management.You may choose to continue your education by applying the credits earned in this program to the MEMS one-year certificate, an associate of applied science in mechatronics technology -micro electromechanical systems or our bachelor in applied science in MEMS.
The Occupational Safety and Health Technician Associate in Applied Science-T Degree program provides students with the foundation, knowledge, and skills to prevent accidents and health hazards to workers, the community, and the environment. The health and safety concepts covered in the curriculum are applicable to all industry sectors, including public agencies and private companies. This degree requires successful completion of a minimum of 99 credits as outlined.
