Graduate with a Computer Numeric Control (CNC) Programming Certificate and you will have gained the skills you need to operate advanced manufacturing equipment that produces the tools, parts and products that people rely on using every day.
Program Learning Outcomes:Demonstrates ability of Skills in FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding);Demonstrates ability of Skills in GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding);Demonstrates ability of Skills in SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding).Potential Certification: A student may elect to take an industry-specific certification exam. The examinations generally require a testing fee paid by the student. Job Corps’ Welding training program teaches students skills like joining metals using a variety of techniques and processes, understanding and following safety procedures including properly using safety equipment, and identifying and explaining the composition and classification of metals, and designing and building a fixture for assembling simple parts. These skills prepare students for a career working in a variety of jobs for manufacturing companies, construction companies, trade shops, shipbuilders or repair shops. Students should also consider pursuing Advanced Manufacturing Production Technician, Advanced Machinist and other Advanced Training programs at Job Corps as a part of their career pathway. Students who complete Welding training at Job Corps can earn nationally recognized credentials from the American Welding Society (AWS) and the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS).

In fact, it remains one of Ohio's most important economic activities, and it offers excellent job opportunities for skilled machine operators, programmers and technicians. Computer Aided Machining (CAM) is an important part of the manufacturing process as it facilitates the control of automated machines to product parts.The Computer Aided Machining Operator program is a one-year certificate program that builds on the Short-Term Computer Aided Machining/Manufacturing Process certificate. It is designed to provide you with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to setup, program and operate computer numerical control (CNC) machines in a manufacturing setting. You'll get an excellent background in math and problem solving as well as real-world training with modern equipment.You may choose to continue your education by applying the credits earned in this program to an Associate of Applied Science in Manufacturing Engineering Technology -Computer Aided Machining.
The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in CNC Engineering Technology builds on the AC in CNC Engineering Technology adding in the additional materials, Computer Aided Manufacturing and Advanced Metrology skills students need when pursuing careers in advanced manufacturing. Students in this program are looking to pursue careers leading teams and solving problems for manufacturing employers in the metal working industries that are increasingly becoming more automated and integrated with advanced technologies.
Computer-Integrated Machining with an emphasis in Tool, Die, and Mold Making is a career with a bright future. The machining profession is the backbone of industry. Every product and every production line requires precision parts produced by skilled craftsmen.Since the skills are essential to every industry, the jobs are plentiful and the pay scale is excellent. Jobs are available locally and nationwide. Graduates of the CCCC program are recruited by local and regional industries.
Flux Cored Arc Welding - FCAW (60 hours) includes instruction in Flux Cored Arc Welding on materials of varying thickness and joint designs in all positions.
This program covers blueprint reading, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), manufacturing process planning, CAD/CAM Solid Part Modeling and Numerical Control (N/C) Programming, precision machining (both manual and CNC machines) and inspection, shop math, and quality control. Knowledge is acquired and skills are developed through textbook, online curriculum, and hands-on lab assignments. Lab work includes the use of CAD/CAM software and state-of-the-art manufacturing equipment to produce machined parts from raw metal stock, according to blueprint specifications.

Job Corps’ Electrical, Pre-Apprentice training program teaches students the skills needed to work with electrical systems in homes, businesses and factories, including how to install, maintain and repair electrical power, communications, lighting and control systems in places of all sizes, read blueprints and diagrams and will need to follow state and local building regulations, and use various hand tools and power tools. This program specifically prepares students for a Registered Apprenticeship after graduation. Students who complete the Electrical, Pre-Apprentice training program can earn industry-recognized credentials from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and certifications in construction health and safety from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
The Electro-Mechanical Technologies (EMT) program contains nine (9) phase termcourses, 38 weeks, and 36 semester credit hours. The objective of the EMT program is totrain and prepare students for entry as service and maintenance technicians in jobs thatutilize technologies employed in the fields of air conditioning (both heating and cooling),and refrigeration. Students completing this program should have an understandingof mechanical and electrical principles and will have practical exposure to diagnosing,servicing and repairing common types of problems in related equipment. Upon successfulcompletion of this program, students will receive a Diploma.
