Job Corps’ OTP Advanced Manufacturing training program connects Job Corps students with other local training providers like technical or community colleges, trade schools or employers to provide specialized education and training services. Students learn skills like reading and understanding schematics and blueprints, positioning or aligning components and parts either manually or with hoists, using hand tools or machines to assemble parts, conducting quality control checks, and describing the commonalities and differences of the alternating current and direct current (AC/DC) systems (e.g., wire color codes in both). These skills prepare students for a career in manufacturing, production engineering and machine shops. Students who complete Advanced Manufacturing training at Job Corps can earn nationally recognized credentials from the American Welding Society (AWS) and the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS).
This program allows students to select course work necessary to become multi-skilled technicians in the field of avionics maintenance. All students develop skills that include installation and maintenance of aviation electrical and electronic systems needed to keep aircraft flying safely. In addition, students choose a secondary specialty focused either on aircraft assembly or aircraft maintenance.
Job Corps’ Electrical training program teaches students the skills needed to work with electrical systems in homes, businesses and factories, including how to install, maintain and repair electrical power, communications, lighting and control systems in places of all sizes, read blueprints and diagrams and will need to follow state and local building regulations, and use various hand tools and power tools. These skills prepare students for jobs as electricians across industries, including in the construction, manufacturing or engineering industries. Students who complete the Electrical training program can earn industry-recognized credentials from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and certifications in construction health and safety from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

Computer Aided Design (CAD) has replaced the manual drafting process and allows the three-dimensional design of parts and components in industries that include automotive, steel, plastics, and more. The designs that CAD operators produce are used to control automated machines through CAM (computer-aided machining), so it is an essential skill for the manufacturing process. While many people believe that all manufacturing has moved offshore, Ohio's manufacturing industry -particularly in the CAD/CAM space -is still alive and well. In fact, it offers excellent job opportunities for skilled CAD operators.The Associate of Applied Science in Manufacturing Engineering Technology -Mechanical Design program builds on the Computer-Aided Operator One-Year Certificate. It is designed to provide you with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to understand the Computer Aided Machining (CAM) process and operate industry-standard Computer Aided Design (CAD) software. It covers fundamental knowledge in the manufacturing process and problem-solving as well as hands-on experience with modern equipment. You'll be job-ready as an entry-level mechanical drafter/designer or CAD operator.
Job Corps’ Painting, Pre-Apprentice training program teaches students the skills like how to apply paint, stain and coatings to walls and ceilings, buildings, bridges or other items such as cars, jewelry and ceramics, use machinery to apply the paints or use scaffolding and raise ladders, fill holes and cracks with plaster and putty, and utilize simple math to calculate dimensions. This program specifically prepares students for a Registered Apprenticeship after graduation. Students who complete the Painting, Pre-Apprentice training program can earn industry-recognized credentials from organizations such as the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and certifications in construction safety from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

The Industrial Automation and Robotics program is designed to provide students with basic Machine Language programming skills, problem solving skills, and troubleshooting techniques used in various industrial and robotic technological fields.
The electrical/electronic engineering technology (EEET) associate in applied science (AAS) program trains students to work as technical assistants with scientists and engineers. The program emphasizes practical experience and teaches skills such as drawing interpretation, testing procedures and data compilation. Mechanical aptitude and a background in math and science are beneficial for prospective students.
