As an industrial mechanic, you may install, test, maintain, and repair mechanical systems such as conveying systems, production machinery, and packaging equipment. Your job will be to keep the manufacturing equipment running smoothly in order to ensure continuous operations.Building on the Industrial Mechanical Technician One-Year Certificate program, this coursework will provide an introduction to the necessary knowledge and hands-on experience with industrial electrical components, welding technologies, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and other mechanical systems, making you job-ready as an electrical maintenance technician doing journeyman-level work.

This program prepares students to work as CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) technicians and provides skills enhancement for working technicians, engineers, drafters, and designers. It includes advanced CAD drafting and design using auto CAD and specialty software in electronics, graphics programming, or mechanical, architectural, or civil design.
Computer Numerical Control (CNC) is a type of machine tool control that automates the motion of machines such as lathes and mills. CNC machines are used in today’s job market to create precise parts at a globally competitive level. Career opportunities include titles such as operator, setup person, and programmer. Today’s machinists need to be well versed in CNC technology in order to ensure upward mobility in the career path.
Students develop fundamental electrical skills tohelp them prepare for a career in the installation,operation, maintenance, and repair ofresidential, commercial, and industrial systems.Students will engage in hands-on activities in alab setting. They will be introduced to residentialwiring of houses and apartments; commercialwiring of retailers, schools, businesses, andhospitals; and industrial wiring of factories.Students will also study electrical theory andmathematical problems related to electricity,apply requirements of the National ElectricalCode (NEC) Book, select and install conductors,examine lighting, communication, and powersystems, and work with conduit and raceways,panelboards, switchboards, grounding systems,and generators. Students will also studyalternative renewable energy sources includingwind generators, solar panels, & communicationcabling and wiring.
Job Corps’ Electrical, Pre-Apprentice training program teaches students the skills needed to work with electrical systems in homes, businesses and factories, including how to install, maintain and repair electrical power, communications, lighting and control systems in places of all sizes, read blueprints and diagrams and will need to follow state and local building regulations, and use various hand tools and power tools. This program specifically prepares students for a Registered Apprenticeship after graduation. Students who complete the Electrical, Pre-Apprentice training program can earn industry-recognized credentials from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and certifications in construction health and safety from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
LCCC's mechatronics program is an exciting, job-focused program that will give you an understanding of how MEMS are designed and fabricated and prepare you to work as an entry-level technician. We've partnered with 80 different Northeast Ohio microelectronics companies who looking for trained workers to ensure that our classes teach you exactly what they want you to know on the job.Building on the micro electromechanical systems one-year certificate program, this coursework will give you hands-on experience and training working at the operator level in a class-10,000 cleanroom located on college grounds. You'll get to work with materials, equipment, protocols, and processes related to the microelectronics industry and learn theory of MEMS design, sensor and microcircuit operation, material and size constraints, microelectronic packaging, printed circuit design, manufacturing, and project management.You may choose to continue your education by applying the credits earned in this program to the bachelor of applied science in MEMS.
Graduate with a Machine Tool Certificate and you will have gained the basic skills necessary to step into an entry-level position in the machine tool trades. Furthermore, these courses are directly applicable to the completion of the Tooling and Manufacturing Technology Certificate program (Academic Program Code: 920) and/or the Tooling and Manufacturing Technology A.A.A.S. degree (Academic Program Code: 908) if students wish to pursue further educational credentials.
The Associate of Science degree in Materials Engineering prepares students for four-year institutions by introducing them to Computer-Aided Design (CAD), MATLAB, C++ skills, material properties, and their theories. By the completion of this program, students may be able to join the materials engineering industry at entry-level positions. Students are encouraged to transfer to a four-year institution after the completion of the AS in Materials Engineering.
This program provides training in which students gain the skills, knowledge, and experience for employment in Industrial Systems Maintenance occupations. The students will acquire techniques and skills applicable to the rapidly growing field of Industrial Systems Technology.The student will have the opportunity to learn fundamental principles of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and robotic systems used in advanced manufacturing applications. Additionally, process control, instrumentation and Programmable Logic Control (PLC) systems and techniques are covered. Students who complete all courses listed in the curriculum will be awarded a Certificate in Industrial Systems Technology. Successful completion of the program prepares graduates for entry-level employment in a variety of industrial-related fields.
The Mechanical Engineering Technology program prepares students for employment as engineering technicians with industry, consulting engineering firms, public utilities and governmental agencies. Graduates typically obtain jobs as heating, ventilation and air conditioning technicians, machine parts and marine drafters, engineering assistants, field engineer technicians, quality control technicians, mechanical design technicians, and product development technicians.
The Advanced Engineering Draftsman Short Term Certificate (STC) Program introduces students to drafting practices, symbols, conventions, and standards utilized in civil engineering contract documents and covers the theory and practical applications necessary to understand the basic design and terminology of structural steel components used in light commercial buildings. Emphasis is placed on structural steel drafting techniques, bolted and welded connections, framing plans, sections, fabrication and connection details, and bills of material and three dimensional problem-solving environment using solids modeling software. Topics include site planning, land surveying, topographic surveys, along with civil terminology. Upon completion, students should be able to draw accurate plat maps giving legal descriptions of land parcels, draw simple site plans, and identify and use proper symbols and conventions on civil engineering drawings, create parts in 3D models, produce working drawings and understand basic simulations. The STC provides the necessary educational background and practical training to help students acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to prepare for a successful draftsman profession.
