This technology short certificate provides an introduction of manufacturing for entry level skilled production workers/technicians.
The Electrical Technology program prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to install, operate, maintain, and repair electric apparatus and systems such as residential, commercial, and industrial electric-power wiring; DC and AC motors, controls, and electrical distribution panels.The program includes instruction in:principles of electronics and electrical systemswiringpower transmissionsafetyindustrial and household appliancesjob estimationelectrical testing and inspectionand applicable codes and standardsGraduates of the Electrical Technology program may become employed as an industrial electrician, control technician, industrial electrical maintenance technician, instrumentation technician, PLC programmer, or industrial electrical inspector.Wallace Community College is approved by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), under the sponsorship of the Alabama Community College System, as an Accredited Training and Education Facility (ATEF) which will allow graduates of the Electrical Technology program to receive industry recognized credentials from NCCER.
This certificate focuses on critical problem-solving skills, theory and components to provide students with a proficient understanding for controlling the flow of electrical currents for the purpose of information processing and system control. The certificate integrates components, devices and design, complexities, and differing operations. Students will receive the expert knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a career in the industry.
Job Corps’ Electrical, Pre-Apprentice training program teaches students the skills needed to work with electrical systems in homes, businesses and factories, including how to install, maintain and repair electrical power, communications, lighting and control systems in places of all sizes, read blueprints and diagrams and will need to follow state and local building regulations, and use various hand tools and power tools. This program specifically prepares students for a Registered Apprenticeship after graduation. Students who complete the Electrical, Pre-Apprentice training program can earn industry-recognized credentials from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and certifications in construction health and safety from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

In this 30 hour course students will learn to use the language to operate CNC lathe machines. In addition to these dates, an additional Saturday will be needed to complete review and final.
The Refrigeration Technologies (RT) program contains seven (7) courses. The objective of the RT program is to train and prepare students for entry as service and maintenance technicians in jobs that utilize technologies employed in the fields of air conditioning (both heating and cooling), and refrigeration. Students completing this program should have an understanding of mechanical and electrical principles and will have practical exposure to diagnosing, servicing and repairing common types of problems in related equipment. Upon successful completion of this program, students will receive a Diploma.
The 288-hour Pre-Apprentice Industrial Maintenance Training Program includes theory and hands-on skills training and introduces participants to the fundamental concepts and skills required by electro-mechanical technicians in manufacturing and a variety of industries. Electro-mechanical technicians combine knowledge of mechanical technology with knowledge of electrical and electronic circuits.
This course is designed for the basic welder who has introductory welding experience. The emphasis is on welding of various materials and techniques. Student chosen projects are often included in this course. Safety will be emphasized with supervised lab practice in gas welding and arc welding. Welding equipment and consumables are included. Minimum enrollment required.

To qualify for these positions, which command excellent salaries, job applicants should have a resume that includes an associate degree.The Greenville Technical College Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) program delivers textbook knowledge and hands-on practice with the software and technology of the industry, preparing graduates to enter the field and succeed.The body of knowledge covered in the Certified Manufacturing Technologist (CMfgT) examination, which is included in the certification program of the Society of Manufacturing Engineer's (SME) Manufacturing Engineering Certification Institute (MECI) may be covered.
Robotics Engineering combines electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, and many STEM fields to solve real-world problems and covers an area of engineering impacting nearly every aspect of our lives today.
The Engineering Graphics and Design Technology program provides the technical training for students to interpret and produce engineering and architectural graphics and data. Students are eligible for this certificate after completing the first three semesters of a Drafting and Design Technology AAS degree. This is a career program designed for students to go directly into the labor market upon completion. Although some of the courses in this program will transfer to four-year institutions, this program is not designed to be a transfer program of study; therefore, it is not subject to the terms and conditions of Alabama Transfers state transfer and articulation reporting system.
