This program teaches machine controls, setting tools and machine limits and capabilities.
This program is for students looking to work within the exciting field of Welding Engineering Technology. Students will learn welding skills including MIG, TIG, metal cutting techniques and small machine operation related welding in addition to weld blueprint reading and related processes. CNC fabrication equipment commonly associated with welding fabrication will also be introduced. Students will be performing hands on welding and completing projects throughout this program to develop hands on skills that employers are looking for.
In this program, students will complete Levels I and II ASNT competencies for six NDT methods including liquid penetrant, ultrasonic, eddy current, visual, radiography, and magnetic particle inspection. In addition, the students will have hands-on experience in both conventional and composite aerospace assembly methods which will allow them to apply NDT techniques to the aviation industry.
NDT is a testing and analysis technique used by industry to evaluate the properties of a material, component, structure, or system for characteristic differences or welding defects and discontinuities without causing damage to the original part. NDT is also known as non-destructive examination (NDE), non-destructive inspection (NDI), and non-destructive evaluation (NDE).If you are someone who likes analyzing results and problem solving, with good vision and a willingness to learn about common NDT techniques such as ultrasonic testing (UT), radiographic testing (RT), magnetic particle testing (MT), and liquid penetrant testing (PT), this may be a great job for you. Graduate with a Machine Tool Certificate and you will have gained the basic skills necessary to step into an entry-level position in the machine tool trades. Furthermore, these courses are directly applicable to the completion of the Tooling and Manufacturing Technology Certificate program (Academic Program Code: 920) and/or the Tooling and Manufacturing Technology A.A.A.S. degree (Academic Program Code: 908) if students wish to pursue further educational credentials.
The Associate of Occupational Studies in Welding Technology (AOSWT) degree, available atthe Tulsa campus only, consists of two academic years containing a total of 60 weeks and 60semester credit hours. The first academic year of this program is the Tulsa Welding School(TWS) Professional Welder program (25 semester credit hours), which prepares a graduatefor entry level positions in structural, pipe, and thin alloy and/or pipeline welding. Thesecond academic year is directed toward course material for job entry as a Welding QualityAssurance/Quality Control Inspector (WQA/QCI) containing 35 semester credit hours. Eachcourse shall be four days a week and will consist of three weeks. The campus has not yetsought approval from the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) for this program. Therefore,this program is not approved by TWC at this time.

The Forklift Operation and Safety Certificate Program prepares students to become safe and effective forklift operators. Upon completion of the program, students will have working knowledge of the basic use of lift trucks, as well as the ability to safely inspect and operate lift trucks. The curriculum includes theory and practical training.
Participants will learn how to apply GD&T to a variety of situations including your own parts. Sharpen your Geometric Tolerancing skills, fill in gaps, get your questions answered, make GD&T more useable, reduce product cost, improve datum selection and create robust designs. Learn how to use the GD&T Hierarchy. Advanced concepts on the application of profile and position as well as fixed and floating features will be discussed. Learn how to properly select datum features and allocate tolerances. Expand your knowledge of simultaneous requirements, composite tolerancing, profile tolerancing, robust design and boundary calculations.
Job Corps’ Welding training program teaches students skills like joining metals using a variety of techniques and processes, understanding and following safety procedures including properly using safety equipment, and identifying and explaining the composition and classification of metals, and designing and building a fixture for assembling simple parts. These skills prepare students for a career working in a variety of jobs for manufacturing companies, construction companies, trade shops, shipbuilders or repair shops. Students should also consider pursuing Advanced Manufacturing Production Technician, Advanced Machinist and other Advanced Training programs at Job Corps as a part of their career pathway. Students who complete Welding training at Job Corps can earn nationally recognized credentials from the American Welding Society (AWS) and the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS).
This certificate teaches beginning and intermediate welding students the principles and practices of gas tungsten arc welding carbon steel, aluminum and stainless steel sheet metal, plate and tubing.
The program is designed to prepare students to work in engineering environments to construct, test, and maintain electronic devices and systems. The program uses current state-of-the-art electronic industrial test equipment and procedures.
