This pathway is designed for students who plan to transfer to a four-year institution to complete a baccalaureate degree in computer engineering. Requirements vary among institutions. The following program is a composite of the requirements of the first two years of the baccalaureate degree at most four-year institutions. Students should have successfully completed a minimum of four units of high school mathematics, including trigonometry, and three units of science in biology, physics and chemistry.

Manufacturing (Industrial) Maintenance Technology program provides the technical, professional, and hands-on skills needed to produce global best technicians. Manufacturing Industrial Maintenance technicians repair a variety of machinery. Maintenance technicians make basic maintenance repairs, perform preventative maintenance, and run machine diagnostics. Graduates earn Manufacturing Maintenance Technology Associate in Applied Science Degree.
The Electrical Engineering program covers a branch of engineering concerned with generating, distributing, processing, coding, transmitting, receiving, and deciphering electrical and electromagnetic signals.

This course introduces students to core concepts in advanced manufacturing, including electrical systems, mechanical systems, automation, and basic robotics. Training combines theory with hands-on lab activities using industry-standard equipment to prepare participants for entry-level roles in manufacturing, industrial maintenance, and automation.

Job Corps’ Electrical training program teaches students the skills needed to work with electrical systems in homes, businesses and factories, including how to install, maintain and repair electrical power, communications, lighting and control systems in places of all sizes, read blueprints and diagrams and will need to follow state and local building regulations, and use various hand tools and power tools. These skills prepare students for jobs as electricians across industries, including in the construction, manufacturing or engineering industries. Students who complete the Electrical training program can earn industry-recognized credentials from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and certifications in construction health and safety from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
The Associate of Science (A.S.) degree program in Engineering is a statewide common curriculum designed primarily for students who wish to transfer to a four-year college or university to pursue a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Engineering.Opportunities for engineering graduates should increase as the world continues to become more technologically oriented. Preparation for the engineering profession is based on a rigorous interdisciplinary program of study. Virginia Peninsula Community College offers options to complete the first two years of study in a broad range of engineering disciplines. The curriculum includes a basic core of courses in mathematics, science, engineering, and general studies, which provide the student with the fundamentals needed for transfer into a baccalaureate engineering program.Based on elective selections, a student may specialize in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Computer, Civil, Biomedical or Chemical Engineering.
Job Corps’ Painting training program teaches students the skills like how to apply paint, stain and coatings to walls and ceilings, buildings, bridges or other items such as cars, jewelry and ceramics, use machinery to apply the paints or use scaffolding and raise ladders, fill holes and cracks with plaster and putty, and utilize simple math to calculate dimensions. These skills prepare students for careers as painters, which are needed across a number of industries, including construction, manufacturing and engineering. Students who complete the Painting training program can earn industry-recognized credentials from organizations such as the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and certifications in construction safety from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
Learn the fundamental skills of machine shop operations. Pima students complete manufacturing projects, earn NIMS (National Institute for Metalworking Skills) certifications, and learn to operate and program CNC mills and lathes used by manufacturers around the country.
