The Diploma in Welding is designed to build upon the Certificate in Welding and provide students with additional skills in advanced welding, robotic welding, NC plasma cutting, weld testing procedures and codes, and layout of fabrication skills.Program Outcomes: Graduates will be able to:Be prepared to obtain AWS certifications.Program and complete welds using robotic welding processes.Complete welding projects using available hydraulic metal shaping equipment.Use industry purchasing & billing practices.Prepare welded coupons and visual and destructive test for quality.Examine basic welding codes and their effect on quality control.
This major prepares students for gainful employment in general machine shops and CNC manufacturing. This is an assessment based certificate where students are evaluated on their ability to demonstrate their knowledge and experience in all the topics of study. Topics include safety, blueprint reading, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), machining a work piece to drawing specification, use of computer aided design software to create drawings, programming, and set-up of CNC lathes and milling machines, using G-Code and CAM, proper tooling and work-holding methods, speeds and feeds, and metal cutting theory. After students complete the minimum skills required in their assessment books, they continue their training by developing their own advanced machining projects. These projects include design, manufacturing, and evaluation of their own product ideas.
This certificate provides foundational course work in the engineering technology curriculum. Upon completion of the certificate students can select a pathway in civil, electronics, or mechanical engineering technology.
Job Corps’ OTP Advanced Manufacturing training program connects Job Corps students with other local training providers like technical or community colleges, trade schools or employers to provide specialized education and training services. Students learn skills like reading and understanding schematics and blueprints, positioning or aligning components and parts either manually or with hoists, using hand tools or machines to assemble parts, conducting quality control checks, and describing the commonalities and differences of the alternating current and direct current (AC/DC) systems (e.g., wire color codes in both). These skills prepare students for a career in manufacturing, production engineering and machine shops. Students who complete Advanced Manufacturing training at Job Corps can earn nationally recognized credentials from the American Welding Society (AWS) and the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS).

The Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering Technology prepares you to work as an Electrical/Engineering Technician, Electronics Engineering Technician or as an Electronics Test Technician. You can also transfer to a 4-year school and complete a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering or related fields.
Learn to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair automated electro-mechanical, product assembly, and process control systems that use programmable controls and other methods to manage complex systems. These systems include robotic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical and electronic devices. The program will prepare students for eight duty areas aligned with National Institute of Metalworking Standards (NIMS) including: maintenance operations; mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic process, and process control systems; and maintenance piping.

The Introduction to Arc Welding certificate prepares students for entry-level welding employment. This certificate is designed to provide a multi-disciplined learning experience for a beginning and intermediate welding student. Students will take foundation courses in industrial safety, blueprint reading, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (Stick) and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG). Welding will be performed in multiple positions on plate steel and sheet metal.
