ATI's Associate of Occupational Science in Trades Leadership with a Specialization in Maritime Welding Technology program prepares students for advanced roles in the welding and fabrication industry, with a strong foundation in both technical skill and leadership development. Over 18 months, students receive comprehensive, hands-on training in structural and pipe welding using a variety of processes and techniques on steel and aluminum materials. Instruction includes blueprint reading, safety practices, and opportunities to earn American Welding Society (AWS) certifications, including up to the 6G pipe position.In addition to core welding instruction, students complete leadership-focused coursework designed to build communication, critical thinking, and supervisory skills relevant to the skilled trades. These courses enhance a graduate’s ability to lead teams, manage workflow, and contribute to operational efficiency.
The Associate of Applied Science degree in Advanced Manufacturing with a concentration in Industrial Maintenance/Electrical will prepare graduates for employment as entry-level industrial electricians. Concepts covered in the concentration include basic electrical concepts, motor controls, programmable logic controllers and basic instrumentation principles.
Building upon the skills gained in QIT I, students in this certificate will gain advanced knowledge of quality and inspection principles. Students will begin to learn project management and leadership skills as they are prepared to move into supervisory positions. Students will learn Statistical Process Control using industry relevant software and will deepen their knowledge of quality principles by studying ISO 9000

The Industrial Technology program prepares students for a career in commercial or industrial maintenance and installation. The career field consists of Maintenance Technologists who are specialists that install, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial machinery to ensure proper functionality. Students learn how to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment used in manufacturing industries as well as the skills needed to maintain facilities/buildings.By completing the Industrial Technology Specialist Associate in Applied Science, students will become proficient in the following skills: mechanical equipment installation, troubleshooting, and repair; electrical control, motor drives and PLCs (programmable logic controllers); wiring, installation, and troubleshooting; hydraulic and pneumatic installation and troubleshooting; preventative maintenance; variable frequency drives installation and troubleshooting; conveyor systems operations; industrial manufacturing; machine troubleshooting; pump systems; process control; building automation; and pipe systems.
This Certificate is designed to provide introductory educational experiences for those students seeking to start or enhance their career as an engineering technician or engineering technologist. This Certificate provides technical skill and knowledge enhancement in addition to building essential job-related communication skills. All courses apply directly to programs leading to Associate Degrees for students seeking to further their education beyond this program.

The Welding and Inspection Technology curriculum provides students experience in welding and inspection technology as it pertains to assembly, manufacturing, energy, structural construction, and nondestructive testing. Nondestructive testing involves the inspection of material or a welding object in a manner that will not impair its future usefulness using one of the NDT test methods: visual inspection, liquid penetrant, magnetic particle, eddy current, ultrasonic, and radiographic testing. This program provides education and training in common cutting and welding processes; AWS welding standards; and OXYFUEL, SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and FCAW processes. Structural, pipe and plate welding; nondestructive testing and inspection; blueprint reading and communications; and math competencies are also emphasized.Upon completion of this program, students will be able toDescribe and demonstrate safe and proper use of each type of welding equipment;Select and demonstrate various joining processes;Read and interpret welding blueprints using a systemic process;Estimate type, quantity, cost, and weight of a welded fabrication from information on a blueprint;Demonstrate proper transport, setup, adjustment, and use of all cutting and welding equipment;Use current industry technology to test and repair welding related equipment;Demonstrate proficiency in OXYFUEL, SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, and FCAW processes;Recognize, inspect, and document proper applications of welding processes;Demonstrate techniques and devices for controlling heat effects during welding;Consistently use equipment safely in the performance of nondestructive testing;Demonstrate proficiency in the use of nondestructive testing equipment and processes; andUse current AWS, ASME, and ASNT codes, welding procedures, and recommended practices.
The computer aided design (CAD) certificate of specialization program trains CAD operators to interpret data, apply drafting skills and utilize software to efficiently produce final drawings and CAD models, following industrial practices and procedures.
Job Corps’ OTP Advanced Manufacturing training program connects Job Corps students with other local training providers like technical or community colleges, trade schools or employers to provide specialized education and training services. Students learn skills like reading and understanding schematics and blueprints, positioning or aligning components and parts either manually or with hoists, using hand tools or machines to assemble parts, conducting quality control checks, and describing the commonalities and differences of the alternating current and direct current (AC/DC) systems (e.g., wire color codes in both). These skills prepare students for a career in manufacturing, production engineering and machine shops. Students who complete Advanced Manufacturing training at Job Corps can earn nationally recognized credentials from the American Welding Society (AWS) and the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS).
