Our Instrumentation, Electrical & Controls Fundamentals (IE&C) certificate program in Electrical/Electronic Controls leverages the pre-requisite training gained in the 1st year certificate and adds industrial level concepts for a complete understanding of how electricity keeps our manufacturing processes working. The advanced 2nd year certificate prepares the student for above entry-level employment as an Automation Technician capable of working in any industry position using instrumentation and automation to control processes. Through concentrated classroom instruction and hands-on laboratory work, the student learns about industrial poly- phase equipment, how to create and install control panels, programmable controls and process instrumentation used in a variety of commercial and industrial manufacturing plants throughout the globe. Come learn the Automation Industry standards at TJC’s state-of-the-art facilities. Marketable skills for this award include: critical thinking, detail-oriented, problem solving and technical skills. All new students are required to attend electrical/electronic controls orientation.
The Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) associate degree program is a lab-intensive, hands-on approach to training in the fields of engineering graphics and computer based drafting and design. This career-oriented major includes instruction on the use of a number of the most popular industry-standard graphics and drafting software applications. The program has a basic general education core along with introductory manufacturing and computer courses. A cooperative education option is also available.
Job Corps’ Electrical, Pre-Apprentice training program teaches students the skills needed to work with electrical systems in homes, businesses and factories, including how to install, maintain and repair electrical power, communications, lighting and control systems in places of all sizes, read blueprints and diagrams and will need to follow state and local building regulations, and use various hand tools and power tools. This program specifically prepares students for a Registered Apprenticeship after graduation. Students who complete the Electrical, Pre-Apprentice training program can earn industry-recognized credentials from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and certifications in construction health and safety from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
In this program, students will learn to manage computer systems for drawing production, information storage, retrieval and communication in the engineering and design workplace. As they develop computer aided drafting skills, they will explore manufacturing, mechanical and architectural engineering and construction applications.This program is intended, primarily, to serve as computer training for individuals who have previous experience as manual “board” drafters and who already possess a working knowledge of technical drawings. However, though there is no requirement of prior technical experience, individuals desiring an elementary introduction to the fields of engineering drafting and design will be well served by this curriculum.Students may, through the use of specified course alternatives, choose to pursue a basic 2D option with added emphasis in elementary blueprint reading and construction applications, or a 3D parametric modeling option with emphasis on advanced software features and mechanical/manufacturing applications.
The Electronic Engineering Technology program provides a strong background in electrical and electronic theory. The theory is further reinforced through practical laboratory work and experimentation. Emphasis throughout the program is on understanding principles that are basic to the broad utilization of electronics across a wide spectrum of industrial, commercial, and consumer applications. The program is designed to provide preparation for entry level jobs in a variety of fields.

C7 is designed for contractor personnel seeking certification or anyone looking to learn about blast cleaning of steel and nonferrous surfaces. It covers surface prep principles, cleanliness, profile, dust and debris control, and abrasives. It’s also well-suited for those working in shipbuilding and marine maintenance, where proper surface prep is critical to coating performance.

The electrical field continues to grow in its scope and employment opportunities due to technological advances as well as economic changes and expansion. Electrical work is becoming more complex with electronics, microprocessor based controls, and data communications integrated into residential, commercial, and industrial electrical systems. This increasing complexity is creating an ever-growing need for well trained and qualified licensed electricians and electrical technicians.Classroom instruction highlights contemporary and evolving electrical technologies applications. Students enrolled in the program will be provided with the opportunity to be issued a NH electrical apprentice identification card. The identification card will allow the student to earn practical working experience hours, as well as related classroom hours in accordance with NH electrical apprenticeship requirements.The Associate Degree classes are held during the day and in the evening to accommodate a variety of scheduling needs. Students who attend full time during the day are able to complete the program in two calendar years, once any necessary developmental coursework is completed. Evening students will take a minimum of four years to complete the program.
LCCC's Mechatronics Program is an exciting, job-focused program that will give you an understanding of how MEMS are designed and fabricated and prepare you to work as an entry-level technician. We've partnered with six different Northeastern Ohio microelectronics companies who looking for trained workers to ensure that our classes teach you exactly what they want you to know on the job.When you're enrolled in MEMS courses at LCCC, you'll get hands-on experience and training working at the operator level in a class-10,000 cleanroom located on college grounds. You'll get to work with materials, equipment, protocols, and processes related to the microelectronics industry and learn theory of MEMS design, sensor and microcircuit operation, material and size constraints, microelectronic packaging, printed circuit design, manufacturing, and project management.You may choose to continue your education by applying the credits earned in this program to the MEMS one-year certificate, an associate of applied science in mechatronics technology -micro electromechanical systems or our bachelor in applied science in MEMS.
This program trains students to transform design and engineering solutions into 2-D drawings, 3-D models and specifications using state-of-the-art CAD software, such that the product can be manufactured.
