Job Corps’ Electrical, Pre-Apprentice training program teaches students the skills needed to work with electrical systems in homes, businesses and factories, including how to install, maintain and repair electrical power, communications, lighting and control systems in places of all sizes, read blueprints and diagrams and will need to follow state and local building regulations, and use various hand tools and power tools. This program specifically prepares students for a Registered Apprenticeship after graduation. Students who complete the Electrical, Pre-Apprentice training program can earn industry-recognized credentials from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and certifications in construction health and safety from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
In this 30 hour course students will learn to use the language to operate CNC lathe machines. In addition to these dates, an additional Saturday will be needed to complete review and final.

This certificate teaches beginning and intermediate welding students the principles and practices of shielded metal arc welding in preparation for entry into the welding fields of construction, fabrication and maintenance.

The Precision Machining Option of the Computer Integrated Manufacturing Engineering Technology Program (PMT) trains individuals to become machinists. The program is an engineering technology program that concentrates on the skills and concepts needed by today’s machine shops. Successful graduates should be ready to take on careers which include titles such as machinist (conventional and computer numerically controlled), tool and die maker, and mold maker. The curriculum includes computer aided design and computer aided manufacturing software packages that support the industry. The program follows the NIMs Level One Machinist skills and students should be able to take and pass the NIMs requirements to become a NIMs Level one machinist by graduation.
This certificate prepares individuals for actual welding work using welding processes and techniques, while preparing for the New York State Certification Examination.

The Electromechanical Technology program is a blend of mechanical, electrical and computerized technologies that together form a complex system used by the manufacturing industry. The program prepares students to work in an integrated, multidisciplinary industrial environment. Skills emphasized include troubleshooting techniques, system preventative maintenance and safety with respect to electrical components, mechanical components and electric motors, pneumatic and hydraulic controls, and PLCs used in mechatronics systems. Students successfully completing this program will have the knowledge and training to manage, investigate, repair and troubleshoot mechatronics systems with the aim of operational efficiency and cost and process controls. In addition, courses place emphasis on safety, teamwork, communications skills and efficient work practices.
The college offers an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Welding and Fabrication Technology. This program combines practical training with classes on the background knowledge needed for welding occupations. Students get the opportunity to practice and develop welding skills in the laboratory and may take an examination for certification. The program is designed for those looking to acquire technical knowledge and skills for welding, fabrication, and related occupations. The curriculum includes courses on manufacturing materials, processes, and systems, such as shear and press brake operation, blueprint reading, shop drawing and layout, and general education classes.
These technicians are involved in all phases of commercial and industrial repair and installation. Students will receive training in industrial electronics, solid state and digital fundamentals, programmable logic control and communications.Students are also introduced to the theories and principles of the operation of electrical equipment, machines; and the installation and maintenance of motors, transformers, industrial controls, programmable logic controllers, and variable speed drives. Students are involved in in-depth study of the National Electrical Code and preparation for credentialing testing. Students are required to participate in third party credentialing such as CET and third party assessments such as NOCTI prior to completion of this curriculum. Instrumentation and Process Control Option:The Instrumentation and Process Control option prepares individuals to apply electronics and technical skills in the fields of industrial control systems, automated systems, process controls, embedded microcontrollers, and data acquisition systems. This option prepares individuals with knowledge and skills in the areas of AC/DC electronics, digital and analog circuits, use of electronic test equipment, use of computers for analysis and problem solving, reading electrical schematics and system diagrams, process and instrument diagrams, scientific methods, and problem solving skills.Robotics and Automation Option:The Robotics and Automation option prepares individuals for the manufacturing environment. As production systems become more streamlined, the equipment that is used becomes more complex. Today's manufacturer is looking for technicians who can troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and program manufacturing equipment. The Robotics and Automation option provides training for these technicians.Robotics and Automated Controls - Short CertificateThis short-term certificate is designed to provide skills in robotics, PLC's, and automated assembly systems. Students who earn this certificate will have in-depth knowledge of FANUC robotics, Alan Bradley PLC's , and the integration of both through an automated work cell. They will also gain the skills needed to repair computer hardware and set up computer networks. Students will have the knowledge required to work as technicians in manufacturing facilites that use robotics and extensive automation. This certificate program is subject to Title IV clock to credit hour conversion.
