Job Corps’ Painting training program teaches students the skills like how to apply paint, stain and coatings to walls and ceilings, buildings, bridges or other items such as cars, jewelry and ceramics, use machinery to apply the paints or use scaffolding and raise ladders, fill holes and cracks with plaster and putty, and utilize simple math to calculate dimensions. These skills prepare students for careers as painters, which are needed across a number of industries, including construction, manufacturing and engineering. Students who complete the Painting training program can earn industry-recognized credentials from organizations such as the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and certifications in construction safety from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
The Electrical and Instrumentation Technology program is designed to help students exit the program with hands-on skills and knowledge recognized by industry partners as the key competencies to succeed in the field of instrumentation technology.This is a career program designed for students to go directly into the labor market upon completion. Although some of the courses in this program will transfer to four-year institutions, this program is not designed to be a transfer program of study; therefore, it is not subject to the terms and conditions of Alabama Transfers state transfer and articulation reporting system.
NCCER’s four-level IM E&I curriculum covers topics such as Fasteners and Anchors, Process Mathematics, Hydraulic and Pneumatic Controls, Process Control Loops, Instrument Calibration and Configuration, Electronic Components, Programmable Logic Controllers, and an introduction to the National Electrical Code, to name a few. Students can complete all 4 levels of IM E&I in any order
This certificate will introduce students to the fields of Quality and Non-Destructive testing. Students will learn how to safely and efficiently operate in an advanced and fast paced manufacturing environment. Students will learn the foundations of quality and inspections systems. Finally, students will learn entry level skills in non-destructive testing including : Eddy Current, Ultrasonic Evaluation, Magnetic Particle, Dye Penetrant, and Magnaflux methods

As manufacturing equipment becomes more advanced and complex, trained and skilled technicians are needed. As an industrial mechanic, you may install, test, maintain, and repair mechanical systems such as conveying systems, production machinery, and packaging equipment. Your job will be to keep the manufacturing equipment running smoothly in order to ensure continuous operations.The Industrial Mechanical Technician Short-Term Certificate program will provide an introduction to the necessary knowledge and hands-on experience with industrial electrical components, welding technologies, and other mechanical systems. You may choose to continue your education by applying the credits earned in this program to the Industrial Mechanical Technician One-Year Certificate or the Associate of Applied Science in Manufacturing Engineering Technology -Industrial Mechanical Technician.
Students in this one-year program learn the theory and become proficient in the skills necessary to assume jobs as heating, ventilation, and air conditioning/refrigeration mechanics. All credits earned in this certificate program may be applied toward the Associate in Applied Arts and Sciences in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning/RefrigerationTechnology.
The Electrical Lineworker (EL) program, available at the Dallas Metro and Jacksonville, FLcampuses only, contains six (6) courses, 15 weeks, and 16.5 semester credit hours. The ELprogram is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment in the field of utilitypower transmission and distribution construction, troubleshooting, and commercialelectrical maintenance and repair. The curriculum includes Climbing in Elevated WorkSite (Pole Climbing), Overhead Construction, Underground Construction, System Designand Operation, National Electric Safety Code, AC and DC Circuits, and Electric Power.Competencies in this curriculum were developed to coincide with the National standards forelectric power generation, distribution, and transmission industry as described in the UnitedStates Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Students willhave the opportunity to qualify for OSHA-10 certification Upon successful completion of thisprogram, students will receive a Diploma.
Gas Tungsten Arc Welding - GTAW or TIG (60 hours) is for professional welders seeking specialized training in Gas Tungsten Arc Welding on materials of varying thickness and joint designs in all positions.

Students who complete the Painting, Pre-Apprentice training program can earn industry-recognized credentials from organizations such as the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and certifications in construction safety from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
The outcomes of this certificate program will prepare students for employment in the field of Mechanical Computer Aided Design and Drafting. The curriculum covers a broad base of current Computer Aided Design, Basic Applied Manufacturing and Engineering skills necessary for success and productivity in modern industry. Course content covers basic geometric creation, metrology, geometric data management, technical math, communications, manufacturing process interfaces, design optimization and design analysis. (Housed in the Engineering Technologies Department)
