An Occupational Skills Award (OSA) is the most basic sequence of courses that will prepare students for employment. Students are not able to declare an OSA as a major, or pursue one as an end goal. However, almost all OSAs are built into other certificates and/or majors, and they will be automatically awarded to students as they complete coursework in those certificates and/or majors.

This certificate focuses on critical problem-solving skills, theory and components to provide students with an understanding for controlling the flow of electrical currents for the purpose of information processing and system control. The certificate integrates components, devices and design, complexities and differing operations. Students will receive the foundation of knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a career in the industry.
The curriculum addresses emerging Additive Manufacturing practices commonly known as Rapid Prototyping or 3-D printing which has become more prevalent in local industry. Additive manufacturing practices replace or compliment traditional machining/manufacturing practices known as subtractive manufacturing. While based on the traditional study of advanced manufacturing, this certificate helps students obtain a specialization in this revolutionary manufacturing process and gain a competitive edge in the marketplace.High school graduate reading and writing skills are expected, as development of technical reports, use of technical manuals and interpretation of codes are required in these courses. Math skills should include practical knowledge of algebra, basic trigonometry, and geometry.Credits earned may be applied toward an associate's degree.Courses in each level (Foundation, Core, and Advanced Track) must be completed prior to advancing to the next level. Where more than one course is offered within a level, courses may be taken in any sequence.
This program educates students to work with engineers in designing or evaluating new products as well as troubleshooting and repairing electronics equipment, including computer equipment.
As part of the Connecticut College of Technology (COT), the Technology Studies A.S. degree provides the knowledge and skills within specific high-demand technology fields. The program consists of lecture and lab course work in engineering, technology, industrial technology, mathematics, sciences, and foundational requirements that provide a solid comprehensive background for continuation in a four-year technology degree program or entry into the workforce. Upon completion of a Technology Studies A.S. degree, students can transfer to Central CT State University or the University of Hartford to complete designated B.S. degrees.

Print Reading for Today is intended for all personnel who need to understand the meaning of drawings / prints. Emphasis is placed on understanding multi-view relationships, symbology and conventional dimensioning and tolerancing methods. Numerous exercises involving the reading of prints will be utilized throughout. Participants are encouraged to bring their own prints for discussion.
Drexel University's Electrical Engineering program provides the balance of technical breadth and depth to emerge as flexible and skilled engineers ready for the many options for a career in industries ranging from lasers and photonics to machine learning and bioinformatics. Students may choose from several areas of study, including electronics, power and systems control, telecommunications and digital signal processing or a general study or electrical engineering. Students pursue their personal interests and emerge prepared for the challenges facing 21st-century engineers working in a global economy.
Job Corps’ Welding training program teaches students skills like joining metals using a variety of techniques and processes, understanding and following safety procedures including properly using safety equipment, and identifying and explaining the composition and classification of metals, and designing and building a fixture for assembling simple parts. These skills prepare students for a career working in a variety of jobs for manufacturing companies, construction companies, trade shops, shipbuilders or repair shops. Students should also consider pursuing Advanced Manufacturing Production Technician, Advanced Machinist and other Advanced Training programs at Job Corps as a part of their career pathway. Students who complete Welding training at Job Corps can earn nationally recognized credentials from the American Welding Society (AWS) and the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS).
The Industrial Maintenance Online Refresher courses will assist you to learn the necessary principles required to complete the pre-employment assessments. Assessments used in Alabama manufacturing industries are the basis for these unique learning modules.
