Embarking on the enlightening journey of Electricity I, students lay the foundation for a career immersed in the intricacies of electrical systems. This course serves as a gateway to the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems spanning residential, commercial, and industrial domains. Engaging in hands-on activities within a lab setting, students delve into the practical aspects of their learning.Building upon this foundational knowledge, Electricity II propels students into a deeper realm of expertise. Here, the focus extends beyond practical applications to the theoretical underpinnings of electrical systems. Students delve into electrical theory and engage in solving mathematical problems related to electricity, enhancing their analytical skills.The course unfolds with an exploration of the National Electrical Code (NEC), providing students with a comprehensive understanding of industry standards. Practical skills are honed as students learn to select and install conductors, examine lighting, communication, and power systems, and navigate the intricacies of conduits and raceways. The curriculum extends further into panelboards, switchboards, grounding systems, and generators, offering a holistic view of the multifaceted world of electrical systems.

In the Precision Manufacturing Boot Camp, students learn basic machining, along with an introduction to Mastercam, Solidworks and G and M Code programming. Students also learn basic CNC Mill and Lathe setup, operation, and programming.

Add on certificate focusing on pipe welding techniques and processes.

The Industrial Production Technology program is designed to prepare students for entry level jobs in paper and chemical process industries.This is a career program designed for students to go directly into the labor market upon completion. Although some of the courses in this program will transfer to four-year institutions, this program is not designed to be a transfer program of study; therefore, it is not subject to the terms and conditions of Alabama Transfers state transfer and articulation reporting system.

Job Corps’ Welding training program teaches students skills like joining metals using a variety of techniques and processes, understanding and following safety procedures including properly using safety equipment, and identifying and explaining the composition and classification of metals, and designing and building a fixture for assembling simple parts. These skills prepare students for a career working in a variety of jobs for manufacturing companies, construction companies, trade shops, shipbuilders or repair shops. Students should also consider pursuing Advanced Manufacturing Production Technician, Advanced Machinist and other Advanced Training programs at Job Corps as a part of their career pathway. Students who complete Welding training at Job Corps can earn nationally recognized credentials from the American Welding Society (AWS) and the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS).

This area of study prepares students to install and maintain electrical systems found in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. The program combines hands on training with classroom instruction that will provide the knowledge and skills students need to succeed in the growing electrical field.

This program is designed to prepare students for employment in the area of installation, maintenance, and calibration of devices used in the automation of industrial processes.

With all classes offered online, this career studies certificate will help you become familiar with AutoCAD and Inventor software and includes advanced technical drafting, parametric solid modeling, engineering drawing fundamentals and more.

The Industrial Maintenance/Millwright Technology program is designed to help students exit the program with hands-on skills and knowledge recognized by industry partners as the key competencies to succeed in the field of industrial maintenance and/or millwright positions.This is a career program designed for students to go directly into the labor market upon completion. This certificate prepares individuals for actual welding work using welding processes and techniques, while preparing for the New York State Certification Examination.

This program covers basic, fundamental principles and technologies for heating and refrigeration.

Print Reading for Today is intended for all personnel who need to understand the meaning of drawings / prints. Emphasis is placed on understanding multi-view relationships, symbology and conventional dimensioning and tolerancing methods. Numerous exercises involving the reading of prints will be utilized throughout. Participants are encouraged to bring their own prints for discussion.
