This Skills Certificate is designed to provide foundational first steps for employment as an engineering technician or engineering technologist. These courses apply directly to programs leading to additional credentials, including certificates and Associate Degrees for students seeking to further their education beyond this program.
This program teaches machine controls, setting tools and machine limits and capabilities.
The CAD Operator Short Term Certificate (STC) Program prepares students to work as computer-aided drafters/designers in industry and to upgrade the skills of individuals presently employed as drafters in a relatively short academic period by including only CADD and supporting courses. Course work completed in the CAD certificate program is fully applicable to the Engineering Graphics Associate of Applied Science degree. This certificate option prepares students for entry-level positions as AutoCAD operators, technicians, and detailers.
The Advanced Manufacturing Skills Certificate introduces learners to foundational skills and techniques in manufacturing. It provides the basic skills needed for employment in today's highly technical manufacturing environments. These classes all apply to the Advanced Manufacturing Certificate and Associate of Applied Science Degree. Protective shop clothing and eye protection supplies are required for the program, and will be purchased by the student.
The term “Advanced Manufacturing Technology” is used to describe flexible manufacturing systems that use innovative technology to improve the design and manufacture of products and processes. The Advanced Manufacturing Technology Program will teach you how these systems – using robotic and transport-based automation including modular work cells: assembly stations, storage locations, machining centers, welding centers and painting stations – play out in the product, from design to manufacture to delivery to the customer. Each student will acquire an overview of how a complete system is tied together to produce high quality product at a low cost.Areas of Degree Emphasis:*EngineeringMechatronicsRobotics Pathway*If a degree emphasis is selected, Advanced Manufacturing Technology A.S. degree requirements will be met using specific courses that also provide training in that sub-specialty.
This certificate program is designed to equip students with the foundational skills and knowledge necessary to gain entry to the robotics field. Through a blend of classroom lecture and hands-on experience, students will learn electrical theory; how to install, program, or repair robotic controllers and related equipment; how to troubleshoot robotic systems; and how to perform preventive or corrective maintenance on robotic systems or components. This certificate is designed to prepare students for career success in robotics. The overall growth of the manufacturing industry and related fields will require a growing number of robotics technicians to install and maintain robotic systems and components. This program is a good fit for people who enjoy working with their hands, with an emphasis on spatial conceptualization and mechanical reasoning. Those who graduate with this certificate have a solid understanding of the machinery and equipment used in the robotics field.
The Associate of Science in Engineering-Industrial and Systems Engineering prepares students for four-year institutions by introducing them to Computer-Aided Design (CAD), structural engineering, material properties, infrastructure, environmental factors, and their theories. By the completion of this program, students may be able to join the industrial engineering industry at entry-level positions. Students are encouraged to transfer to a four-year institution after the completion of the AS in Industrial and Systems Engineering.

This program allows students to select course work necessary to become multi-skilled technicians in the field of avionics maintenance. All students develop skills that include installation and maintenance of aviation electrical and electronic systems needed to keep aircraft flying safely. In addition, students choose a secondary specialty focused either on aircraft assembly or aircraft maintenance.
Add on certificate focusing on pipe welding techniques and processes.
The Robotics Certificate will provide you with the skills and knowledge required to work with robots and automation technology during enmployment in a high quality production environment. Students will learn robotic operation, build and design, and programming fundamentals specific to tasks a robot will complete. This certificate is also a building block for the associate degree in Advanced Manufacturing Technology.
