The Advanced Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning certificate will prepare you to apply technical knowledge and skills to repair, install, service and maintain the operating condition of heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems. The certificate curriculum covers diagnostic techniques, the use of testing equipment, and the principles of mechanics, electricity and electronics as they relate to the repair of heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems. This 20-credit certificate can be completed in one year.

The Precision Manufacturing certificate program equips students with the necessary hands-on experience and foundational knowledge to qualify for entry-level positions as machine operators and quality control inspectors. In this program, students are taught both conventional machining techniques and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining techniques. The programs were developed in response to Connecticut manufacturers’ needs for a highly skilled workforce to match the needs of the regional industry sector partnerships around the state of Connecticut. The student who completes the Precision Manufacturing certificate program has a choice to pursue employment or to matriculate in an associate degree program.
EnginesWe’ll teach you the tools of the trade, then immediately put them to use pulling apart and rebuilding a Cummins, CAT, or Detroit engine. We start with differentials, then move through hubs, kingpins, and steering. Also covered in this area are the operation, testing and servicing of in-cab air conditioning and transport refrigeration. The Architectural Design Technology (ADT) degree path will augment students' learning by coupling theory-based instruction with hands-on applications using current software. The ADT path software includes, but is not limited to, Revit Building Information Modeling (BIM), Chief Architect, with an option for Lumion, Sketch-up or NavisWorks, and AutoCad. ADT classes offer students knowledge in innovation design, formal design process, BIM, advanced critical thinking, project management, civil, and structural design. Students will obtain the skills needed to plan, develop, and produce final construction documents for residential and commercial applications.
The Mechanical Engineering Technology program is designed to prepare students through the study and application of principles from mathematics, natural sciences, and technology and applied processes based on these subjects.Course work includes mathematics, natural sciences, engineering sciences and technology.Mechanical Engineering Technology is a course of study that prepares the students to use basic engineering principles and technical skills to design, develop, test, and troubleshoot projects involving mechanical systems. Includes instruction in principles of mechanics, applications to specific engineering systems, design testing procedures, prototype and operational testing and inspection procedures, manufacturing system-testing procedures, test equipment operation and maintenance, computer applications, critical thinking, planning and problem solving, and oral and written communications. Graduates of the curriculum will find employment opportunities in the manufacturing or service sectors of engineering technology. Engineering technicians may obtain professional certification by application to organizations such as ASQ, SME, and NICET.NOTE: Upon completion of all requirements, the A.A.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology is granted by Pitt Community College. Schoolcraft's Associate of Engineering degree is designed for students who intend to pursue a bachelor's degree in engineering. It allows the student to establish a strong academic foundation in mathematics and science and complete courses to fulfill general education requirements-all before moving on to a bachelor's degree program at another college or university.
The Electrical Applications (EA) program contains seven (7) courses, 30 weeks, and 28 semester credit hours. The objective of the EA program is to train and prepare students for entry-level or trainee positions in the residential, commercial, and industrial electrical industry. Students completing this program should have an understanding of mechanical and electrical principles, residential and commercial wiring applications, voice, video, and data cabling systems, the application of motors, lighting, and devices that control them as well as exposure to various types of transformers. Upon successful completion of this program, students will receive a Diploma.

This course provides students with a foundational understanding of CNC milling machine operation, focusing on G-code programming, basic work holding techniques, and the use of the Haas CNC control system. Students will gain hands-on experience in setting up and machining components using G-code, while developing the skills necessary to effectively operate a Haas CNC mill. A strong emphasis will also be placed on mechanical blueprint reading, which will support students’ success in understanding and executing precise machining tasks.
The Technical Studies degree program is designed to provide recognition for work and life experience while assisting individuals in their preparation for career advancement or change. This program is designed to provide skills for personal, professional and community improvement. The program is highly individualized and flexible. As many as 20 credits may be awarded for work and life experience including military experience, trade/proprietary school preparation, apprenticeship programs, structured on-the-job training and the like. Graduates will be awarded the associate in applied science degree upon successful completion of this program. Technical Studies has been designed as a first-degree program and therefore cannot be pursued as a second degree at DCCC.

We've partnered with 80 different Northeast Ohio microelectronics companies who looking for trained workers to ensure that our classes teach you exactly what they want you to know on the job.Building on the micro electromechanical systems one-year certificate program, this coursework will give you hands-on experience and training working at the operator level in a class-10,000 cleanroom located on college grounds. You'll get to work with materials, equipment, protocols, and processes related to the microelectronics industry and learn theory of MEMS design, sensor and microcircuit operation, material and size constraints, microelectronic packaging, printed circuit design, manufacturing, and project management.You may choose to continue your education by applying the credits earned in this program to the bachelor of applied science in MEMS.
