Job Corps’ Electrical training program teaches students the skills needed to work with electrical systems in homes, businesses and factories, including how to install, maintain and repair electrical power, communications, lighting and control systems in places of all sizes, read blueprints and diagrams and will need to follow state and local building regulations, and use various hand tools and power tools. These skills prepare students for jobs as electricians across industries, including in the construction, manufacturing or engineering industries. Students who complete the Electrical training program can earn industry-recognized credentials from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and certifications in construction health and safety from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

Acquire all of the skills offered during CCAT's Digital Manufacturing week. On route to this credential you will complete training focused on applications for multi-axis milling machines, additive manufacturing, digital work instructions.Program Outcomes: 1. Develop an awareness of the digital thread (DT), model-based engineering (MBE) and model-based definition (MBD). 2. Become familiar with technical data packages (TDP), the common file types, and the role, use and definition of derivative files.3. Plan setup and tooling path for producing part on milling machine with traditional CAD/CAM processes. 4. Plan setup and tooling path for producing part on multi-axis milling machine using automated approach with MBD.5. Define applications and uses of additive manufacturing (AM) and the seven additive manufacturing families and their use cases.6. Describe the research development and technical roadmap for additive manufacturing technology improvements for implementation with MBD.7. Use software to collect and import data directly from equipment, sensors, and apps for use in process development and process auditing.8. Describe the process of planning and authoring work instructions in a mixed reality.
This is an advanced course only available to students who have successfully completed the CNC Machining 2 Program. The objective of this program is to reinforce 3-axis concepts learned in the previous semester and introduce advanced live tooling, 3+2, and 5-axis programming, setup and operations, advanced tool pathing and advanced set ups. They will set up, program, and make a series of projects that will lead them to be entry level 5-axis milling programmers or advanced lathe programmers. Students will learn the benefits of 5-axis milling in the manufacturing industry and understand the use of 4 and 5-axis for increased proficiency and advanced tool pathing. The students will enhance their 2D toolpaths and learn how to construct advanced toolpaths for 3D surface models. The students’ proficiency will propel them towards 3+2 and true 5-axis programming. In the machine shop, they will learn advanced mill and turning. Along with adjusting post-processors for various CNC machines. Students will study Solid Modeling as a design tool for machine components. This course is designed to teach advanced CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) setup, programming, and operating skills. Students will gain advanced CMM and quality assurance skills. Students will have an advanced grasp of how to operate a CMM in a manufacturing context upon completion of this course.

Precision Machining is a comprehensive 6-month trades course designed to prepare students for careers in the machining industry. The curriculum covers essential skills including blueprint reading, precision measurement, basic and advanced manual machining, CNC programming and operation using G&M code, and CAD/CAM design with Fusion 360.The program emphasizes both technical proficiency and workplace readiness, helping students develop the interpersonal skills necessary for professional success. Students earn three industry-recognized credentials, along with a Precision Machining Certificate of Completion from C-TEC.With 80% of the training delivered through hands-on experience, students gain practical, real-world skills. Additionally, we support and encourage motivated individuals to pursue further certifications during or after the course to enhance their career opportunities.
The Rising Welder Certificate is an introductory welding program that enables students to obtain entry-level knowledge in Welding processes including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Blueprint reading, and a choice of Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) or Introduction to Fabrication.
Job Corps’ OTP Advanced Manufacturing training program connects Job Corps students with other local training providers like technical or community colleges, trade schools or employers to provide specialized education and training services. Students learn skills like reading and understanding schematics and blueprints, positioning or aligning components and parts either manually or with hoists, using hand tools or machines to assemble parts, conducting quality control checks, and describing the commonalities and differences of the alternating current and direct current (AC/DC) systems (e.g., wire color codes in both). These skills prepare students for a career in manufacturing, production engineering and machine shops. Students who complete Advanced Manufacturing training at Job Corps can earn nationally recognized credentials from the American Welding Society (AWS) and the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS).
The associate in applied science degree in Machine Tool Technology emphasizes the advanced manufacturing technologies. Students are prepared to work in precision tooling, machining and manufacturing. Graduates could qualify for positions as machine tool operators; machinists; Computerized Numerically Controlled (CNC) machinists and programmers; Electrical Discharge Machine (EDM) operator/programmers; computer-aided drafting/design and computer-aided machining/manufacturing (CAD-CAM) programmers, toolmakers, mold makers and inspectors.
The Welding Operator One-Year Certificate program is designed to provide you with the specialized knowledge and skills to be prepared for entry-level employment as a welding technician. As a welding technician, you'll inspect welded joints to ensure company standards, national code requirements and customer job specifications are met. You'll also assist welding engineering personnel in development and application of new and improved welding equipment, welding techniques, procedures and practices, and specifications for heat treating.An emphasis is placed on computer-aided manufacturing and automated welding systems. In addition, you'll learn about new techniques that are being developed to weld dissimilar materials and non-metallic materials such as plastics and composites including laser beam and electron beam welding, new fluxes and other technologically advanced processes.You may choose to continue your education by applying the credits earned in this program to an Associate of Applied Science in Welding Technology.
