These are traits that often characterize electronics engineering technology students.Additionally, successful electronics engineering technology students tend to be science oriented and focused on attaining their educational goals. They enjoy the hands-on projects incorporated in the CCCC Electronics Engineering Technology Program.Many employment fields are open to electronics graduates including avionics, telecommunications, medical electronics, and automated systems. Many graduates find employment as service technicians working on computer-controlled equipment.Instruction at CCCC includes numerous lab projects that can be undertaken individually or in teams. Students use their knowledge of microprocessors, digital controllers, and computers to design and build projects.CCCC's electronic laboratories are modern computer-based facilities interfaced with state-of-the-art test equipment. They support a broad-based core of classes in basic electricity and digital concepts. The instructional program places emphasis on developing the student's ability to think, analyze, and troubleshoot. Written communication skills also play an important role in the curriculum.
Graduates will learn to analyze, troubleshoot, and align mechanical and automated industrial machinery. Program course work includes electronics, industrial wiring, motor controls, programmable logic controls, instrumentation, industrial fluid power, manufacturing automation concepts and robotics.
Job Corps’ Welding training program teaches students skills like joining metals using a variety of techniques and processes, understanding and following safety procedures including properly using safety equipment, and identifying and explaining the composition and classification of metals, and designing and building a fixture for assembling simple parts. These skills prepare students for a career working in a variety of jobs for manufacturing companies, construction companies, trade shops, shipbuilders or repair shops. Students should also consider pursuing Advanced Manufacturing Production Technician, Advanced Machinist and other Advanced Training programs at Job Corps as a part of their career pathway. Students who complete Welding training at Job Corps can earn nationally recognized credentials from the American Welding Society (AWS) and the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS).
As part of the Connecticut College of Technology (COT), the Technology Studies A.S. degree provides the knowledge and skills within specific high-demand technology fields. The program consists of lecture and lab course work in engineering, technology, industrial technology, mathematics, sciences, and foundational requirements that provide a solid comprehensive background for continuation in a four-year technology degree program or entry into the workforce. Upon completion of a Technology Studies A.S. degree, students can transfer to Central CT State University or the University of Hartford to complete designated B.S. degrees.This program has an embedded Advanced Manufacturing Machine Technology Certificate.

This AAS Degree is designed to provide the student with knowledge of the practical application of principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services. Engineering Technology graduates will be able to assist engineers in designing, developing, using, and maintaining all types of equipment. They will work independently or in teams doing product evaluation and testing, where they adjust, test, and repair equipment. Additionally, Technologists may be involved in the manufacturing, deployment, or servicing of equipment. With 16 elective credit options, the program can be customized to meet a student's or employer's interest. Students who graduate with this degree may consider transferring to another college or university to complete a bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology.
This program trains students in plate, mild steel pipe and stainless pipe welding using the GMAW, FCAW and the GTAW welding techniques.

This course was developed with input from local companies and covers a range of topics to provide students with the basic knowledge for entry-level employment in the manufacturing industry. The 84-hour course consists of approximately 24 sessions and presents topics such as basic hand tools, shop mathematics and industry terminology. Introduction topics include manufacturing processes, problem solving, and team work. This course will also offer all participants a 10-hour General OSHA certification, and completion certificate, upon successful completion of class.
This certificate focuses on critical problem-solving skills, theory and components to provide students with an understanding for controlling the flow of electrical currents for the purpose of information processing and system control. The certificate integrates components, devices and design, complexities and differing operations. Students will receive the foundation of knowledge and skills necessary to pursue a career in the industry.
The Career Studies Certificate in Basic Welding prepares students with no prior welding experience for entry-level jobs in basic welding and fabricating.Program Outcomes: Graduates of this program will:Could earn AWS (American Welding Society) certifications.Demonstrate basic knowledge of welding terms and definitions.Demonstrate basic Metal Arc / MIG / TIG Welding skills.Demonstrate layout and blueprint reading skills.Industry Credentials: A student will have the opportunity to qualify and earn certifications in the following areas AWS - ARC 1g & 3g plate, AWS GMAW, AWS 3g & 4g plate.
