Graduate with a Machine Tool Certificate and you will have gained the basic skills necessary to step into an entry-level position in the machine tool trades. Furthermore, these courses are directly applicable to the completion of the Tooling and Manufacturing Technology Certificate program (Academic Program Code: 920) and/or the Tooling and Manufacturing Technology A.A.A.S. degree (Academic Program Code: 908) if students wish to pursue further educational credentials.
This program is designed to offer a clear pathway for students wanting to transfer into the bachelor's degree program in Manufacturing Engineering Technology at Western Michigan University. Upon graduating from the program at WMU, among the jobs students can consider are: Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering assistant, Manufacturing Specialist, Engineering Technician, Technical Sales, Production or Material Planner and many other technical support positions. By declaring this Articulated Pre-Major, students are on track to graduate with an Associate of Arts degree from GRCC and transfer to WMU to earn a Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering Technology.
The Associate in Science (AS-T) transfer degree is designed to prepare mechanical, civil, aeronautical, and industrial engineering majors for transfer to a four-year institution with junior standing. The AS-T transfer degree will generally provide the transferring student with at least 110 credits upon entry to a four-year institution. This transfer degree will satisfy some, but not all, of the general education requirements at the receiving institution. This degree requires successful completion of a minimum of 120 credits as outlined.
This program prepares students to take the Federal Aviation Administration written, oral, and practical examinations required for certification as an aviation maintenance technician with an airframe endorsement. Graduates earn an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Airframe Technology.This is a career program designed for students to go directly into the labor market upon completion. Although some of the courses in this program will transfer to four-year institutions, this program is not designed to be a transfer program of study; therefore, it is not subject to the terms and conditions of Alabama Transfers state transfer and articulation reporting system.
To train students for entry-level positions requiring skills in installing, troubleshooting, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, primarily in residential applications.
The Associate in Science (AS-T) transfer degree is designed to prepare computer science, science and engineering majors for transfer to a four-year institution with junior standing. The AS-T transfer degree will generally provide the transferring student with at least ninety quarter (60 semester) credits upon entry to a four-year institution. This transfer degree will satisfy some, but not all, of the general education requirements at the receiving institution. This degree requires successful completion of a minimum of 90 credits as outlined.
The Pre‑Engineering program is designed to provide students with the basic competencies, knowledge, and skills required to transfer to a baccalaureate degree program in Engineering.
Engineering Graphics encompasses many divergent fields of study, including Aerospace, Architectural, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Piping, Structural, and Technical Illustrating. All of these fields focus on the ability to communicate by using a graphic language. Graphic communication is the ability to translate ideas and rough sketches into finished drawings that can be used to manufacture or assemble the desired product. These drawings are produced with the aid of specialty drawing and measuring instruments and the use of special computer programs. Students in this program learn basic drafting techniques as well as advanced topics within the fields of Architectural Design, Mechanical Design, and 3-D Design. Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CAD) is an essential part of this program and is explored in depth.Students who complete the prescribed degree curriculum will earn an associate in applied science degree in Engineering Graphics. Admission is conditional and depends on the student's ability to perform the essential functions for this program. Reasonable accommodations are considered.
Industry demand for highly skilled problem-solvers continues to increase, but there is a lack of qualified employees with the high-tech, design engineering and critical thinking skills needed to fill Advanced Manufacturing positions. The Industry 4.0 certificate prepares students for these Advanced Manufacturing positions by offering them the opportunity to earn FI4.0CP Industry Certifications. To have the opportunity to earn these Certifications, students will complete illustrative labs and assignments provided by FI4.0CP certified instructors.FI4.0CP - Festo Industry 4.0 Certification Program
Print Reading for Today is intended for all personnel who need to understand the meaning of drawings / prints. Emphasis is placed on understanding multi-view relationships, symbology and conventional dimensioning and tolerancing methods. Numerous exercises involving the reading of prints will be utilized throughout. Participants are encouraged to bring their own prints for discussion.
The Precision Manufacturing certificate program equips students with the necessary hands-on experience and foundational knowledge to qualify for entry-level positions as machine operators and quality control inspectors. In this program, students are taught both conventional machining techniques and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining techniques. The programs were developed in response to Connecticut manufacturers’ needs for a highly skilled workforce to match the needs of the regional industry sector partnerships around the state of Connecticut. The student who completes the Precision Manufacturing certificate program has a choice to pursue employment or to matriculate in an associate degree program.
