Whether you're just getting started, switching careers or sharpening your skills, there are over 900 training programs across all 50 states to help you grow your career in shipbuilding — many that take less than 6 months to complete.
This program will train students in the use of Solid Works and CATIA CAD software, which will be utilized by local companies in the machine design, automotive and aerospace industries.
This program builds on the skills attained in the Manufacturing Technology BC. Students learn more advanced CNC operational skills, CNC G code programming and Computer Aided Drafting. Students will have extensive hands on time operating the CNC lathes, mills other CNC machine tools including CNC fabrication equipment to gain confidence in their operation and programming skills. CNC machining is utilized extensively in industry and operators of this equipment are highly sought after.
Demand for welders is increasing in construction, manufacturing, utilities and many other industries. To meet this need and make you job-ready upon completion of your training, the program is based on occupational analyses and the needs of the maintenance and fabrication welding industries. The program is a stand-alone, two-year, full-time program that will provide you with the knowledge and skills to become a professional welding technician. As a welding technician, you'll act as a liaison between the welding engineer and the welder. You'll inspect welded joints to ensure company standards, national code requirements and customer job specifications are met. You'll also assist welding engineering personnel in development and application of new and improved welding equipment, welding techniques, procedures and practices, and specifications for heat treatingStudents who excel in the program may be qualified to take certain welding certification tests. You may also elect to participate in LCCC's Work-Based Learning program where you will spend one or two semesters working in industry. During this time, you'll earn a wage, two-to-three hours of college credit, and important work experience. If you take a calculus-based sequence of math and science courses, you may also be eligible to transfer to Ohio State University's baccalaureate degree program in welding engineering. If transferring is your goal, you should consult an academic advisor before enrolling in the Welding program.
Job Corps’ Painting, Pre-Apprentice training program teaches students the skills like how to apply paint, stain and coatings to walls and ceilings, buildings, bridges or other items such as cars, jewelry and ceramics, use machinery to apply the paints or use scaffolding and raise ladders, fill holes and cracks with plaster and putty, and utilize simple math to calculate dimensions. This program specifically prepares students for a Registered Apprenticeship after graduation. Students who complete the Painting, Pre-Apprentice training program can earn industry-recognized credentials from organizations such as the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and certifications in construction safety from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
Enter the thriving world of design. Our program will prepare you for work in a variety of disciplines including architecture, engineering, graphics, or design. Students gain experience with advanced CAD software and applications, allowing them to graduate with leading-edge skills.
Build a future in industrial systems technology. If you like high-tech and hands-on, this is the program for you. It's a fact; in the past five years every graduate of Industrial Systems Technology was employed in the field after completing the program. In the industrial systems program you learn how things work. You learn how to find problems, how to fix them and how to keep things running smoothly.Studies include programming, wiring, and circuitry. Hydraulics, electronics and even robots are part of the instruction at CCCC.You train with the same state-of-the-art equipment found in the real-world workplace.
The Gas Metal Arc Welding fundamentals certificate prepares students for entry-level welding employment. This certificate is designed to provide basic structural welding learning experiences for beginning and intermediate students. Students will take foundation courses in industrial safety, blueprint reading, Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG) and multi-position welding on plate steel and structural shapes.
program focuses on hands-on learning. The program covers mechatronics design, language and speech technology, AI applications for machine learning, and autonomous systems. You will be taught by faculty with industry experience who will provide you with the knowledge and skills needed in the growing field of robotics. When you earn your degree, you will be a highly competitive graduate prepared for positions in a variety of industries in the Seattle area, Washington State and beyond.
You'll discover the major pitfalls of traditional coordinate tolerancing - and how they may be overcome by using Geometric Tolerancing. Then, starting with your basic print reading knowledge, you'll learn the symbols, terminology and rules of Geometric Tolerancing as prescribed in the ASME Y14.5-2009 Standard. The GD&T Hierarchy will be presented to explain the relationship between tolerances and how to most economically apply the concepts.
This program provides comprehensive training in essential welding techniques, including oxyacetylene setup and cutting, shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and flux-cored arc welding (FCAW). Students gain hands-on experience in applications, setup, operation, troubleshooting, and industry safety standards. With a strong emphasis on practical skills, the program ensures students are job-ready by providing essential welding gear, including a welding helmet, safety glasses, leather gloves, a welding jacket, and related tools.
This program introduces you to the computer and how it can be used to generate two- and three- dimensional engineering drawings.
The Electro-Mechanical Technologies (EMT) program contains nine (9) phase termcourses, 38 weeks, and 36 semester credit hours. The objective of the EMT program is totrain and prepare students for entry as service and maintenance technicians in jobs thatutilize technologies employed in the fields of air conditioning (both heating and cooling),and refrigeration. Students completing this program should have an understandingof mechanical and electrical principles and will have practical exposure to diagnosing, servicing and repairing common types of problems in related equipment. Upon successfulcompletion of this program, students will receive a Diploma.
