Here at WyoTech, it’s in our DNA to give our students the best training possible. Our Applied Welding Technology program is built so that students get hands-on experience, not just learning the different kinds of welding but also learning how to use them.WyoTech’s curriculum is built by some of the top professionals in the industry and customized to train our students in project-based welding- giving you the opportunity to gain the welding and fabrication skills to enter nearly any area of the welding industry. Our welding program is designed to give them the experience they need to pursue a career in anything from shipyards to fabrication, heavy equipment to pipelines, or any of the countless opportunities in the welding industry. Our training follows the standards of some of the best associations in the welding industry- The American Welding Society (AWS), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), and the American Petroleum Institute (API). WyoTech’s welding testing procedures and qualifications are built around the standards of these institutions, giving you the skills you need to succeed in the industry. In addition, our program is built on project-based learning. Our students will not only learn the fundamentals of welding, cutting, metallurgy, fabrication and blueprint reading, but also will put these skills to use by building different training projects throughout the 6-month program. Our Applied Welding Technology program also follows the schedule of the trades. With one class occurring during the day, and a different one taking place during the nighttime hours, this class offers the chance to prepare yourself for the shiftwork that the trade industry often requires.
The Advanced Manufacturing Skills Certificate introduces learners to foundational skills and techniques in manufacturing. It provides the basic skills needed for employment in today's highly technical manufacturing environments. These classes all apply to the Advanced Manufacturing Certificate and Associate of Applied Science Degree. Protective shop clothing and eye protection supplies are required for the program, and will be purchased by the student.
This all-expense paid 14-week accelerated program will provide you with the skills needed to enter a high-demand career as a CNC Machine Operator.The CNC Academy is broken down into two modules containing: Machine Shop Fundamentals, Blueprint Reading, and Principles of CNC.Students who successfully complete the program will receive their OSHA 10 Certification, HAAS Mill and Lathe Certification, and receive nine college credits upon matriculation to YCCC.

Prepare to work as an industrial/manufacturing supervisory technician, production planning technician, or plant layout technician.
Job Corps’ Painting, Pre-Apprentice training program teaches students the skills like how to apply paint, stain and coatings to walls and ceilings, buildings, bridges or other items such as cars, jewelry and ceramics, use machinery to apply the paints or use scaffolding and raise ladders, fill holes and cracks with plaster and putty, and utilize simple math to calculate dimensions. This program specifically prepares students for a Registered Apprenticeship after graduation. Students who complete the Painting, Pre-Apprentice training program can earn industry-recognized credentials from organizations such as the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and certifications in construction safety from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
An Occupational Skills Award (OSA) is the most basic sequence of courses that will prepare students for employment. Students are not able to declare an OSA as a major, or pursue one as an end goal. However, almost all OSAs are built into other certificates and/or majors, and they will be automatically awarded to students as they complete coursework in those certificates and/or majors.
The Engineering Graphics and Design Technology program provides the technical training for students to interpret and produce engineering and architectural graphics and data. Students are eligible for this certificate after completing the first three semesters of a Drafting and Design Technology AAS degree. This is a career program designed for students to go directly into the labor market upon completion. Although some of the courses in this program will transfer to four-year institutions, this program is not designed to be a transfer program of study; therefore, it is not subject to the terms and conditions of Alabama Transfers state transfer and articulation reporting system.

If so, a high paying career in electronics, heating and cooling, automotive technology, plastics and polymer engineering, or quality science could be a good fit for you.Students who are detail oriented, and want to build communication and reasoning skills to use in a hands-on career, have a lot of options at GRCC. Including keeping those options open to explore careers while you earn a Manufacturing and Applied Technology Concentration Pathway Degree.
You will learn various welding and pipe fabrication techniques in a setting similar to those found in real-world workplaces, preparing you to immediately enter the workforce.
Community colleges and universities in Michigan have simplified the transfer process by developing Transfer Pathways. These pathways build on the Michigan Transfer Agreement (MTA), which makes it easier for students to transfer their general education courses taken at Schoolcraft to participating four-year schools.
