Job Corps’ Electrical, Pre-Apprentice training program teaches students the skills needed to work with electrical systems in homes, businesses and factories, including how to install, maintain and repair electrical power, communications, lighting and control systems in places of all sizes, read blueprints and diagrams and will need to follow state and local building regulations, and use various hand tools and power tools. This program specifically prepares students for a Registered Apprenticeship after graduation. Students who complete the Electrical, Pre-Apprentice training program can earn industry-recognized credentials from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and certifications in construction health and safety from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
The Electronics Technology Certificate program is designed to give students a foundation in electronics. All credits earned for this certificate apply to the AAAS Electronics Engineering Technology degree.
This program is designed for employees of Keurig Green Mountain. Students will be given specialized electrical technology training that will support production operations at Keurig-Green Mountain.
Provides the knowledge and skills leading to immediate employment in the field of engineering technologies and manufacturing related fields. People who wish to prepare for industry certification or qualify for promotion in a present position to another field may benefit from this program. Students may use their 18 credits of technical electives to explore a variety of technical electives.
In this program, students will learn to manage computer systems for drawing production, information storage, retrieval and communication in the engineering and design workplace. As they develop computer aided drafting skills, they will explore manufacturing, mechanical and architectural engineering and construction applications.This program is intended, primarily, to serve as computer training for individuals who have previous experience as manual “board” drafters and who already possess a working knowledge of technical drawings. However, though there is no requirement of prior technical experience, individuals desiring an elementary introduction to the fields of engineering drafting and design will be well served by this curriculum.Students may, through the use of specified course alternatives, choose to pursue a basic 2D option with added emphasis in elementary blueprint reading and construction applications, or a 3D parametric modeling option with emphasis on advanced software features and mechanical/manufacturing applications.
The Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) associate degree program is a lab-intensive, hands-on approach to training in the fields of engineering graphics and computer based drafting and design. This career-oriented major includes instruction on the use of a number of the most popular industry-standard graphics and drafting software applications. The program has a basic general education core along with introductory manufacturing and computer courses. A cooperative education option is also available.

Job Corps’ Welding training program teaches students skills like joining metals using a variety of techniques and processes, understanding and following safety procedures including properly using safety equipment, and identifying and explaining the composition and classification of metals, and designing and building a fixture for assembling simple parts. These skills prepare students for a career working in a variety of jobs for manufacturing companies, construction companies, trade shops, shipbuilders or repair shops. Students should also consider pursuing Advanced Manufacturing Production Technician, Advanced Machinist and other Advanced Training programs at Job Corps as a part of their career pathway. Students who complete Welding training at Job Corps can earn nationally recognized credentials from the American Welding Society (AWS) and the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS).
The 12 Week Basic Maintenance Technician program prepares students for entry level employment in various capacities in a manufacturing environment. Students will gain hands-on experience with multimeters, slide calipers, micrometers, motor controls, mechanical drives and pumps. The program includes a wide variety of training that will enable graduates to repair, troubleshoot, install, dismantle, adjust or maintain industrial production and processing machinery. Classes Meet:Monday-Thursday, Wallace Campus 5:00 pm-8:00 pm
This program prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills to install, operate, maintain, and repair electric apparatus and systems such as residential, commercial, and industrial electric-power wiring; and DC and AC motors, controls, and electrical distribution panels. Includes instruction in the principles of electronics and electrical systems, wiring, power transmission, safety, industrial and household appliances, job estimation, electrical testing and inspection, and applicable codes and standards. The program includes a minor concentration in Process and Maintenance Technology.
As manufacturing equipment becomes more advanced and complex, trained and skilled technicians are needed. As an industrial mechanic, you may install, test, maintain, and repair mechanical systems such as conveying systems, production machinery, and packaging equipment. Your job will be to keep the manufacturing equipment running smoothly in order to ensure continuous operations.Building on the Industrial Mechanical Technician One-Year Certificate program, this coursework will provide an introduction to the necessary knowledge and hands-on experience with industrial electrical components, welding technologies, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and other mechanical systems, making you job-ready as an electrical maintenance technician doing journeyman-level work.
CAD designers use computer-aided drafting software to create detailed drawings and working plans for the process piping design, mechanical design, and architecture design industries. It is from these CAD drawings that the conceptualization of an idea or design is transformed into a produced product. The Engineering Design Technology: Computer-Aided Drafting and Design Certificate provides students the opportunity to study and learn 2D and 3D design, and solid modeling methods and standards used in the production of drawings for applications such as mechanical, architectural, machine, and/or process piping design. After successful completion of the one-year program, the student receives the Engineering Design Technology: Computer-Aided Drafting and Design Certificate of Proficiency, which prepares graduates to enter the workforce with a solid, technical CAD background. Graduates, however, are also encouraged to consider the opportunity to complete two more semesters of CAD training to earn the Associate of Applied Science Degree in Engineering Design Technology. Marketable skills for this award include: interpersonal skills, computer skills + typing, problem solving, and technical skills.
