Job Corps’ Heavy Construction Equipment Mechanic, Pre-Apprenticeship training program teaches students skills needed to work with large machines like inspecting, repairing and replacing defective or worn parts such as bearings, pistons and gears, performing scheduled maintenance to diagnose and identify malfunctions, using computerized tools and equipment to address issues, and testing major components such as engines, hydraulic systems and electrical systems. This program specifically prepares students for a Registered Apprenticeship after graduation. Students who complete an Automotive and Machine Repair training area can earn nationally recognized credentials from organizations like the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF), and the United Automobile Workers (UAW).

The Associate of Applied Science Degree in Advance Manufacturing with a concentration in Electrical Technology will prepare graduates to be an entry-level electrician/electrician's helper. Concepts covered in the concentration include AC/DC theory, wiring methods, conduit bending, NEC codes, fundamentals of programmable logic controllers, and distribution systems.
This Course will cover 3D Solids creation from 2D wireframe geometry, 2D High Speed Dynamic toolpaths and its uses, Basic plane creation and manipulation. The Advanced Manufacturing Certificate provides enhanced skills needed for employment in today's highly technical manufacturing environments. The Certificate is designed to train those new to manufacturing, but also serves to update or expand the skills of seasoned manufacturing workers with the most current technology and techniques. These classes all apply to the Advanced Manufacturing Associate of Applied Science Degree. Protective shop clothing and eye protection supplies are required for the program, and will be purchased by the student.
The purpose of the Machining Technician Career Studies Certificate is to help entry-level employees in the precision machining related trades obtain skills with emphasis on manual lathe and mill work. Student's meeting the CSC requirements will have entry level skills in the following occupational areas: Manual Lathe Machinist, Manual Mill Machinist.
The Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) certificate program is designed to qualify students in the gas tungsten welding processes on either plate or pipe in accordance to the American Welding Society (AWS) or the American Petroleum Institute (API) welding procedures. These courses can be offered concurrently as CEU courses.
The Engineering Pre-Major is for highly motivated students who have a strong interest in science and mathematics and plan to continue their education and transfer to an Engineering program. Engineers use science and mathematics to solve complex real world problems in cost effective ways. There are many engineering fields, such as mechanical, electrical, civil, biomedical, computer, environmental, industrial, and manufacturing. By declaring this Pre-Major, students are on track to graduate with an Associate of Arts degree from GRCC and transfer to a 4-year institution to complete a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
