About This Program
ATI's Associate of Occupational Science in Trades Leadership with a Specialization in Maritime Welding Technology program prepares students for advanced roles in the welding and fabrication industry, with a strong foundation in both technical skill and leadership development. Over 18 months, students receive comprehensive, hands-on training in structural and pipe welding using a variety of processes and techniques on steel and aluminum materials. Instruction includes blueprint reading, safety practices, and opportunities to earn American Welding Society (AWS) certifications, including up to the 6G pipe position.In addition to core welding instruction, students complete leadership-focused coursework designed to build communication, critical thinking, and supervisory skills relevant to the skilled trades. These courses enhance a graduate’s ability to lead teams, manage workflow, and contribute to operational efficiency.
