Medal of Honor Lesson – Depth of Courage Video

A rescue mission was launched when the submarine USS Squalus sank during a trial run off the coast of New England in May 1939. Three Navy divers, William Badders, James McDonald, and John Mihalowski, would later receive the Medal of Honor for the daring rescue of over 60 trapped submariners.
